"Everything was fine with the place but no elevator and sort of dated. On the good side the location is perfect, it includes a danish every morning and the bed was comfy. Parking is free also and the lot was never full."

"After a lot of pushback and rudeness, the manager comped me 1 night stay after giving away my room that i imitially paid for. They put me in room in the back corner, no sunlight and next to the supply room. both mornings, I woke up at 5:30am-6am constant slamming doors, conversations right in front of window and door and stomping and yelling. The front desk woman was incredibly rude and did not want to take accountability for giving not only my room away as well as my cousin’s. Not worth the headache."

I could literally hear every word of the conversation next door; not that I wanted to! They provide earplugs upon arrival so it’s apparently a frequent complaint. $20 for parking seemed steep considering you couldn’t directly access the building due to construction taking place."

"Royal Copenhagen Inn has become our go to place when we stay in Solvang twice a year. Our room is spacious and comfortable with two easy chairs and a desk. When weather is good, we sit outside on the sheltered balcony and people watch. The sheets are soft as are the four generous pillows and if you need extra towels, as I always do, they are happy to provide. Breakfast is dropped at your door every morning. Depending on what you check off, expect two hard boiled eggs(and peeled) eggs, yogurt, two cheese sticks and a large Danish pastry as well as canned orange juice and tea or coffee. I appreciate the shower includes a floor mat so you don't need to worry about it being slippery and the hair dryer does an excellent quick job. The Inn's location is perfect! Turn right, cross the street and dine at Osteria Grapolo for excellent Italian. Turn left and walk to the end of the park into Fitzpatrick's Tavern for good pub fare. Lots of good restaurants all around. For shopping a must is Fairy & Frog, where you walk into an enchanted wonderland of figurines, hair wreaths, enough rocks and crystals to stock a lapidary shop, dragon figures of all sizes, decks of affirmation cards and if you want to buy something for a child you are so, so lucky! I also enjoy Pickett Fences across and down a bit from the Inn and the newish SYV Thrift Shop at the corner of Mission and First Street, near Fitzpatrick's. It benefits local nonprofits like Meals on Wheels and is a treasure chest of finds."
