It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. 「Our room was perfect for us, a good size and lovely and quiet. Corridors were quiet and the floor did not creak as you walked along so we slept very well. Bed was very good, pillows less so. Hotel is in an excellent location for walking down the canal, ponds and woods, lots of green space just a walk away. The food at the restaurant was not as good as we were hoping but there are 2 very good pubs very close which served very good food. All in all though, for us, a very enjoyable stay」
