"The Sand Wing is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are to an extremely high standard. Breakfast is also divine. That said, the service really lets the hotel down. For the prices they charge, I expected service to be exceptional, but unfortunately it wasn’t anything special. On top of that, the service charge added to the hotel bill at the end is outrageous. If you’re paying £5,000 for your stay, being charged around another £500 in service fees feels excessive, particularly when the service doesn’t reflect that level of charge. When we arrived, we were given a QR code and a brochure and told to message if there was anything we wanted to arrange. I messaged about a few things and received no response. When I chased it, I was then told that they no longer offered everything that was actually listed in the brochure we had been given. Bizarre, to say the least. Overall, it’s a stunning hotel, but if you’re considering staying, I would strongly recommend booking the brand-new Sand Wing. The hotel has huge potential, but for the prices they’re charging, the service really needs to improve. They need to go above and beyond to make the experience feel genuinely five-star."
