"All the staff we spoke with were very kind and accommodating to anything we asked for. They went out of their way for us and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sendai!"

"The Tanya was really a great stay. The Onsen water is wonderful; the staff is great, as well as the food. It is as clean as it can be considering its age and number of visitors. I will go back again."

This property and service are superb. The only improvement I would suggest is that the shower water temperature often varies, with a sudden burst of very HOT water. It would be nice to be able to order room service, too.
Thank you for a beautiful visit.

The Hotel Metropolitan Sendai (HMS) is immediately adjacent to the Sendai railway station. It may be a bit confusing to find. If you are arriving by train, use the West-Exit-JR, turn left and follow the sidewalk. The HMS is a classic upscale Japanese hotel. The staff is absolutely excellent, looking after your every need. The housekeeping was also excellent, as was the internet. The rooms are large by Japanese urban-hotel standards. There are some old-fashion practices, such as having...

Incredible experience at Suzukiya Ryokan! Staff is incredible! They speak some English and you can communicate perfectly fine with all of them. They are so incredibly kind and welcoming! The room was very traditional with straw mats, room dividers, very comfortable beds on the floor. Hot spring baths indoors as well as outdoors were absolutely fantastic! They are separated by gender, you wash up before entering a really hot bath and relax like you haven't relaxed in a long time! Then they bring...

Everything was amazing. The room was spacious and my wife and I were able to rest and recover after a long multi week trip through Japan and Korea. The only downside was that the laundry facilities were temporarily out of service during our stay. Other than that I highly recommend for a peaceful night to recover the body.

We stayed here for a week while visiting our daughter who lived nearby. The staff were friendly, and polite. No problem with communication even though I do not speak Japanese. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The view of the mountains from the room can't be beat. I agree with one review that said the toilet in the reception is the best toilet I have been to in Japan, as crazy as that may sound. Highly recommend!
