We recently stayed at this 97-year-old hotel and absolutely loved the authentic, almost century-old charm it offers. From the moment you step in, you feel the history woven into every detail — a rare vibe that makes this place truly special. The hotel is quiet and conveniently located literally next to a hospital, which surprisingly adds to its peaceful atmosphere. It’s also incredibly walkable — just steps from public transportation, great restaurants, and major Seattle attractions like The Pike Place Market, Space Needle, museums, library, and downtown shopping. While the rooms do not have air conditioning (true to its historical roots), the hotel provides electric fans. Honestly, we didn’t even need ours — the cool harbor breeze kept the room naturally comfortable and cozy. Customer service was excellent throughout our stay, and the affordability for such a prime location is hard to beat. If you’re looking for a quiet, charming, and centrally located place to stay in Seattle with a touch of living history — this is it. Highly recommend!

I liked the safe, clean atmosphere here. I didnt like that it was a 9 block walk from the pier. That was scary. I dont remember Seattle being this scary. Lots of Marijuana, trash in the streets, and panhandlers. I dont mind giving but these folks were pretty scary.

The temperature inside the room is very unpleasant and I was sweating all night and there are no controls to change and that there is no water even courtesy water bottle on day one wasn’t there very disappointing. I would never come here again.

For a 2 star hotel this hotel exceeded our expectations. We knew going into our stay that we would not have access to AC, thankfully the weather in Seattle was relatively cool so after using the provided fans, opening the windows, and closing the curtains we were able to have the room a comfortable temperature for the rest of our stay. The room was very clean, the rooms were large and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill so if you are not up to some urban hiking keep that in mind. Area around the hotel was very clean and quiet and we found it walkable to many areas. Wifi was hit or miss (often connection slowed in the evening) but for the price and the location I think this hotel is better than most. Some considerations to keep in mind, but definitely not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

We loved the front desk staff, the rooftop sitting area and outdoor patio was great as well. Downside was the noise from the roof of the hospital( looked like ac unit) and no ac in the room (what we knew about ) but we thought we would have at least small fan. Overall was great stay.

Property was great. Room was spacious. The evening/night desk person was not helpful. The toilet in the room was having problems flushing sometimes and we asked to have a plunger. He said that the maintenance crew was gone and he didn’t know where they were kept and his solution was to come down and use the toilet in the lobby. We were able to fix it ourselves and didn’t need to go to the Lobby in the middle of the night. He also didn’t know the area at all when we asked for a place to eat that was open at 11 pm. He didn’t know anywhere. We found one ourselves.

I like the location of the property I disliked how my room was on the back side and right over the HVAC system for Virginia Mason hospital. That was way too loud!!! I tried to change my room (begged the front desk staff), but they were not helpful at all!

This hotel has no AC and didn't provide any options like fans. The windows only opened a couple of inches (for safety, I'm sure), but it was a very hot summer night and we were quite uncomfortable. I couldn't call front desk from our room. I had requested extra pillows and extra coffee pods when I checked in. They were never delivered.

The whole checkin process took all of 2mins. The staff was super friendly. The property is located in walking distance to a lot of different restaurants. While there is no air conditioning, a fan is provided in the room and this worked out fine.
