We were on the Gold floor. So check-in was there. At the front desk and on the Gold floor, there are two data capture machines. The debit machine allows tap. The credit machine does not. The restaurant and bar have a data capture machine which allows debit and credit, insert, swipe or tap. On the Gold floor I wasted forty-five minutes checking-in. My dinner companion left. We barely were served dinner. I had to urge the hostess to seat us. The check-in lady had no idea how to solve the card for incidentals. I’ve stayed at Fairmont Hotels in SF, Santa Monica, Dallas, Boston, et cetera. Very nice, high-end hotels. It's unfortunate that my check-in experience tainted by stay at this Fairmont.
