The worst. Felt unsafe and no parking. They had the airport parking on the property. People screaming, banging and stomping all night long. They charged a deposit after we arrived and never returned it. The beds super uncomfortable and burn marks all over. What a joke. Just don't!

In 3 places on the page there are photos of breakfast. " "Motel in De Moines with free breakfast and 24 hour front desk" I was told that there was 'no' breakfast. The staff are kind obviously it is not their fault. Which rooms have free breakfast and which ones do not. Be very clear I will be checking back ! 'Certain room" ? Please correct your ad. If you are cutting costs do not advertise free breakfast be very clear. Which rooms exactly ?

Ruth, Thank you for your feedback. As you will see in our pictures for the Inn we do offer a grab and go breakfast. We show it in the pictures as well. It is not for any particular room. We do apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you in future travels!

We stayed a night, convenient spot to visit mall etc. Breakfast was available, at least a hot cup of tea or coffee and bananas and pastries.

Fine for a night on the road, just what we expected near the airport. Comfortable - only complaint is that the toilet tank top was the wrong size and did not fit the opening so it made noise every time of use. Not a difficult thing to replace!

Next to a noisy road and under the airport flight path. I am familiar with the area, so booking here without realizing noise could be an issue is on me. We got back to our room around 2 am after attending an event to discover the power was out for the entire motel. Surrounding neighboring and adjacent had power. Some of the guests were sitting in their vehicles running heat and charging their phones, so it wasn't like guests slept through it and we were the only ones affected.The freezer in the mini fridge had melted leaving a huge puddle on the floor of our room. We could not charge devices, use the tv, and had to ready for bed using our phone flashlights. Sleep was impossible due to the service trucks outside working on the power, and when they left, the loud commuter traffic, airplane noise, and you could hear all movement of the guests next to and above us due to paper thin walls. No sleep was had. While the outage could have been out of the motel's control, they did not offer an apology or even acknowledge this upon checkout. I basically paid over $80 for a bed in a cold pitch dark room. One positive, the younger guy who checked us provided great service.

We wish there was something we could have done but as you saw they were trying to repair it quick as possible. We hope you give us another chance.

Value Inn will reply to this review with their standard, "Thank You For Taking A Moment... " & "We Would Love To Hear From You Directly." It's a COMPLETE SHAM! THEY DID HEAR FROM ME DIRECTLY! Website stated, thru Expedia, "Soundproofed Rooms." Jet Noise horrendous! Next morning told help (they were nice!) I would be checking out as 2 noisy & wanted refund on other 2 nights. Told help they advertised Soundproofed Rooms & the help said,"It says that on the website? "Told me they couldn't give me refund & only the asst manager could & she wouldn't be in for 2 days. Stayed 1 more night & no sleep then left. Called hotel next day and talked to asst. mgr. She said, regarding Soundproofed Rooms, "I don't know why they have that on there." She told me they would issue a refund for the night I didn't use. Waited several days & got confirmation from Expedia that hotel refused refund. Called mgr. back & she didn't know why it got refused & that that decision is made by the Gen. Mgr. Found out the GM doesn't even come into the hotel. Asked for the GM's email address. I asked for GM's name & she gave me her first name. I asked for the last name & she said she wasn't sure of last name. She had to look it up. I then sent detailed email to the GM waited a couple of weeks & sent it again. Never received a reply back. Contacted Expedia many times by chat. Told them I need refund for false advertising & needed to send copy of detailed email to an Expedia Supervisor. They said no way to do that!

Doug, We appreciate you taking a moment to write a review. No where on any website do we have it written that our Inn is soundproof. Unfortunately, we are about 3 miles away from the airport and you will hear the planes when they are going towards the airport. As well we are on the main Airport road which is International Blvd.. One thing that we do wish we could fix however, we can not change the location of our Inn. As you will notice from reading the many other reviews posted by your fellow travelers is the proximity of our Inn to the airport.

Small outdated rooms. Shower head was extremely low. Breakfast was below average and the front desk guy in the morning was absolutely useless. Would let be fill my coffee mug with coffee as hes to lazy to go and make more coffee. I would fire him. Lazy and rude.

This was not a hotel, rather it was a motel, which the price was relative, there was a lot of noise upstairs (second floor), there were planes passing by so throughout the night it was too difficult to get to sleep, the breakfast was just coffee and on bread the same for the 3 days, I have reservations on Day inn hotel, but some changue me when I pay bad, bat!

This is a no frills motel. Clean.Friendly staff. Outdated but kind of quaint. If you're looking for a safe place to stay, this it. Remember you're in a fly zone, so expect air noise.

Cheap but convenient
Clean from a naked-eye standpoint. Hotel is aged for sure, with scratches on furniture etc. No coffee maker but a microwave and fridge, which seems a bit odd. No vending machines, but you can buy chips and snacks from the front office. No clock or bible. The phone was very generic and had zero call features, such as "call front desk" etc. There was no chain lock and no peep-hole. As a single female traveler, those things would have been appreciated. Also...and I can't really complain, since most people (myself included) would realize the hotel's proximity to the airport and highway. It's VERY noisy. Bring earplugs! Also, I enjoyed the danish from the continental breakfast, and the front desk attendant was friendly.
