Find Historic Hotels in Scottish Highlands

"Not up to standards. Definitely not what you would expect from a 4 stars luxury stay, a facility that -according to locals- is "the best in town". While the facility is beautiful and the staff is nice, it pains me to say that, next time, we will consider staying at an AirBnB in the city centre and possibly use the hotels restaurant and facilities - no special treatment is reserved for the hotel guests. We were told that we had to book our dinner in the restaurant in advance and that if we were 15 min late we would loose our table; and I was unable to spend my day at the spa as I was planning. It was fully booked: although the reception managed to book me a last minute massage, and even though it was mothers day, we were highly surprised that being a hotel guest (in one of the supposedly best rooms!) did not grant you any kind of preferred treatment for the spa - and we would have been more than happy to pay good money for it. And finally, the service was not one you would expect from a luxury hotel. Most importantly, I told the staff several times that I was celiac, but they nonetheless served me a regular biscuit reassuring me that it was gluten free (it was not). I am sure it was an innocent mistake, but yet, a very big one, which added to the numerous small ones has made sure that we will not be going back to this hotel."

"Stayed for 4 days and lift was out of order whole time. Man behind bar took several attempts to serve a decent pint. Room was clean , staff pleasant "

"Had a very enjoyable stay. The room and facilities were lovely. Only complaint was there was a dog barking on my second night and some noise from other people staying in the hotel. The gym and swimming pool were very nice. Close proximity to lots of places to eat in the city centre. The hotel is situated in a Beautiful spot looking at the castle and the best view down the river Ness. "

"Old hotel room was very nice and updated and very comfortable accompanied by lovely breakfast. The hotel location is perfect facing the harbour view and few steps away from the train station. Highly recommended."
