This was our first time in Savannah, and we wanted to be in the Historic District so that we could walk everywhere for our only full day in the city. We try to travel on a budget, and Planters is a relatively inexpensive non-chain option with nice reviews. I chose the most basic room- no balcony, no view, ended up by the elevator- you get the idea. We stayed 2 nights and were pretty much in our room only to shower, rest, or sleep. I’d say our stay in Room 503 was adequate to good at best. Pros: Property is affordable and quaint, in a perfect location, and impeccably clean. Staff were friendly enough with one standout— Carl greeted us outside as we pulled up at check-in and went out of his way to be kind and helpful. He even pointed out a parking spot on the street just steps from the hotel where we left our car for the entire 30-odd hours of our stay (street parking is free on Sundays) costing us only about $6 total! Cons: The room could use refreshing— stained blind on the bathroom window that didn’t go all the way to the sill so that I could see people in the parking garage while I was on the toilet, as well as the stained carpet and faded paint made the room look run down. Towels not very soft. Sink area is tiny. “Antique” queen bed was lovely to look at, but for me the mattress was too soft and made an annoying sound anytime my husband or I turned over. Pillows not very comfy either. LOTS of noise from HVAC system, parking garage, and hallway by elevator.

Clean and comfortable room, good shower with hot water. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Coffee and water acailable dailt in the lobby and there is a wine and cheese social for guests weekdays in late afternoon. Room was pretty with nice appointments and high ceilings. Good location.

We booked it for its charm and we definitely got charm with the four poster beds. The room also had a nice size refrigerator, plenty big to keep drinks and leftovers cold and a very large TV. 30 inches of snow The staff was gracious kidding and in the evenings after 7:45 they put out big hot fresh gooey cookies. There was no ice machine, but if you needed ice, ask for it and water at the counter. They do offer valet parking and to be honest we probably should’ve done that instead of parking in the garage next to the hotel because we found out if we left the parking garage they would charge us again but with valet, you could come and goand the valet attendants were always very nice. We couldn’t have asked for a better location, a block away from the busy downtown area with plenty of food and shopping, and a short walk down to the Riverwalk, but I must caution. The steps are really, really steep… there is a great breakfast restaurant behind at the hotel, and the square across the street from us had a sax player busking in the morning. But for us a great thing was one of the Old Town Trolley stops was a block away, so we were able to purchase tickets right from the concierge at a hotel across the street from the #11 stop. Honestly, it was a great stay there, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Front desk staff was friendly, but the hotel feels old and run down. Carpet in the room was stained. I didn’t want to walk in bare feet, honestly. Bathroom was also worn and showed rust/mold in places. Bed was comfy, though. Generally just disappointed.

The room was clean and had an actual live plant! The view wasn't great, but we didn't spend a lot of time in our room anyway. It was a comfortable size and our bed was comfy, too. The evening reception was wonderful. The piano player on Monday (Steve) was awesome! It was a nice way to wind down after a busy day of sightseeing, and before going out for dinner. The location was great for going down to the riverside, restaurants, and shops. I would definitely recommend the Planters Inn on Reynolds Square. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional.

Room had misty smell . Carpet was so old and stinky . Anyone with Asthma would not be able to stay in the room. Definitely recommend make over of the rooms so that guests don’t suffocate.
