The setting is lovely with beautiful trails and riverside-views. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, setting up tours and answering questions. The food was top notch with great plant-forward options. The riverside room had AC which was an added perk. Although the room itself was fairly basic, it was very clean and met our needs to be able to enjoy the surroundings.
Beautiful place but no a/c and it gets hot. No screens so we did get mosquitoes and gnats in the room because we had to keep the windows open. The staff and the food were great!
It was amazing. It was serene. Really a place to be still and quiet as there’s no tv. A place to talk and relax more. The receptionist and everyone you came across was very nice. Offered recommendation for eateries. highly recommend if you’re looking to unwind and connect with nature.
Lovey eco lodge really working with the environment. Fabulous staff, couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely breakfasts, healthy locally sourced dinner buffet and tea and coffee all day long. Tours on offer were great too- we did the bird walk and saw so much that we would have missed! Rafting with Rios fabulous. Yes the rooms are a little basic but all in keeping with the ethos of the place. You will not be disappointed!

Liked: Staff & service
Chilamate was cheaper than some of the other places we stayed and we loved the location in the rainforest. Plus the night walk we did was exceptional and the rafting guide they recommended was really good. The lodge we felt was a bit run down and our room not that welcoming (stained sheets, very dark) although maybe ok for the cost. The evening meal was also expensive vs local restaurants. In short, amazing location but don’t expect luxury.
Staff is fabulous, super friendly and helpful. Liked the breakfast and home cooked dinner. The covered walk ways and ubiquity if provided umbrellas are great when it's pouring buckets. Nice touch to provide rubber boots for forest walking.
The walls between some rooms are super thin which can be annoying with noisy neighbors.
This was an inexpensive option for our family to stay in Sarapiqui. The property is interesting because of the covered pathways and proximity to two miles of rainforest trails, and we spied frogs, howler monkeys, iguana, caterpillars, etc. Breakfast was wonderful. There is no air conditioning or hot water, which was fine for us. Wet clothes will take a looooong time to hang dry. We are a family of 6, and I thought from photos that we would likely have a room with bunk beds. Instead we were given two rooms, and that worked for us.
Staff was wonderfull. Lots of wildlife all around the grounds

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We had a warm welcome from the moment we arrived , with clear instructions prior to arrival as well. The breakfast as mentioned in previous reviews was the best that we have had in Costa Rica and likewise we were treated to a wonderful home cooked three course meal at a very reasonable price. We loved the peaceful surroundings with nature on the doorstep including trails into the forest. We loved our stay and just wish we had planned to stay longer.
This is very good value accommodation in a beautiful setting. Our room was simple but very clean. The staff were friendly and the home cooked diner and breakfast were good. The owners work closely to support the local community and so it feels really nice to stay here and support their great work.
