The staff was very attentive, personable and knowledgeable. The pool area was perfectly relaxing. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I would say needs improvement is that they need a kids menu. Our room came with a credit for breakfast and it was hard to find something for the grand children.

We come to Santa Barbara often and our favorite place is the Mar Monte Hotel. The woman, Caroline, at the front desk made it even better for us by helping of choose a room that was perfect. She was so kind and efficient and friendly. Thank you so much. We'll be back!

I love the beach being across the street. I appreciate the checking-in staff, she was great. I also appreciate the wooden chips you get which give you $10 off drinks! I just wished the hotel would have had a bigger pool space to lay out. It was hard to get a chair, specially since the hotel is as big as it is or have a second pool. The other part was somewhat disappointed was dining options around the hotel since most of the were 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 mile away which are not walking distance.

Lovely beachside hotel

Staff were immediately welcoming and lovely. They accommodated our 7 month baby with a pack and play and high chairs at the restaurants. The room is thoughtfully designed and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and the proximity of the hotel to the beach, wineries, restaurants and zoo

The room was spacious, but the furniture setup could be improved. The closet was so close to the side of the bed that there was not enough room to open the closet door. The cushion on the sofa in the room had a nasty stain, and the room felt damp and stuffy.

The housekeeping was appalling and on the third day no one made up our room, no clean glasses or towels, no coffee makings. On the second day, a room cleaner had dumped the contents of the wastebasket in the toilet and didn’t even flush. This? For $650 a night?

Nice for solo trip

The service was great and the front desk employees and valet were really nice. I appreciated the late checkout and help with beach amenities. I wish I used the bikes and beach chairs more. The hotel could use some updates and walls are thin. Otherwise, I enjoyed this option for my solo trip!

Perfect hotel for family’s

We loved this place , it was a Very nice hotel. The room was clean and nice , location was great for family’s with kids. we wished we would have booked a balcony .. because the ocean views were beautiful!! Only negative - they had some carpets being installed across from us early Friday morning - and there was some partying above us every night until after 2am - Thursday - Sunday ( normally wouldn’t mind but we had our kids with us ). We would stay here again .. just maybe a different room ( balcony )
