It was such a treat to stay at the Hotel Santa Barbara with friends. The hotel is quite charming. Ate dinner across the street at Joe’s Cafe which is a must do. Had a wonderful meal. Such a great location. We will be back 😃

This property shares a wall with the bar Baja Sharkys! The driving music and partying doesn’t end until after 1am! The hotel knows this and still rents rooms knowing you will not sleep till after one. Then if/when you complain they will refund your money but your night was already ruined! That is their business model! Fill the rooms then give refunds if you complain. DO NOT STAY HERE!

My fiancé and I stayed here while we celebrated our engagement. We were blown away with how nice our room was. We love that it’s located in our favorite part of State Street, so it’s super convenient to get to our favorite bars & restaurants! We are happy we found our new spot when we visit Santa Barbara!!

Beautiful hotel in a great Downtown location near many shops and restaurants. We purchased tickets to a concert at the Lobero Theatre and had a 10 minute walk down State Street to arrive at our destination. Love this nostalgic hotel with comfortable beds and very nice staff. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a large group that stayed there & everyone was happy with their stay. Specifically, with the staff. The young gentleman and young woman at the front desk on Saturday, March 28th were very welcoming and patient with so many of us arriving at the same time. Our bartender at arrival was also very attentive with our drink orders. Would definitely stay there again. The decor is beautiful and calming. And, great service goes a long way after a long train ride.

Parking was easy. State Street is a barren mess. Expensive smart watch went missing even though the watch tracker showed it in the staff office long after checkout. If a guest's property is not safe in the hotel there is little reason to stay there.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Barbara for two nights and honestly had such a great experience. We picked it for the location (you really can’t beat it) and the fact that it’s dog-friendly—and they absolutely delivered on both. Check-in was quick and easy, and they immediately gave my dog Lobo a treat, which obviously won them points right away. They offer dog bowls and beds, and we ended up using the bed—which Lobo approved of, so that says everything. The hotel itself is super clean, updated, and just really beautifully decorated without feeling over the top. It felt comfortable but still a little elevated, if that makes sense. At checkout, Alex and Christine were at the front desk and came over to give Lobo some birthday love (yes… we were celebrating his 12th 😅), which was such a sweet touch. Every single employee we interacted with—from valet to housekeeping—was genuinely friendly and welcoming. They do offer valet, and the gated parking at night made me feel really safe leaving my car there, which I appreciated. We’d absolutely stay here again—no question.

Situated in a great area. Midway on State St. we stayed here many years ago. It has since been remodeled. We were very surprised at the size of the bed. Queen size bed?? I think not! The beds were comfortable. Small rooms. They have a small coffee area, restaurant, bar in the lobby. Our hair dryer did not work but they replaced it. Staff tried to be helpful but not top notch communicators. We would stay there again.

This boutique hotel was super clean, smelled amazingly fresh everytime we entered the hotel, valet parking was top notch (never waited more than 5 minutes for our car, location could not be beat with entry/exit right onto State street with tons of shopping and restaurants (I highly recommend Angie’s a few blocks away), and very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel and a small but functional gym which we used a couple of times. Only drawbacks were limited on site food options (no real restaurant). Just a lobby bar with a couple food items. Lastly, this may have been the unluck of the draw but we were in Room 201 and were awoken everyday to loud banging metal noises that sounded like a laundry shoot ran through the middle of our room. Not sure how many rooms are affected but to be honest, when you pay this much for a boutique hotel experience, NONE of the rooms should have to deal with this noise nuisance every day!!

Very loud and the rooms are small with no place for clothes other than the closet. It has been updated so the decor is very nice and the rooms are clean. Bed seemed small, but ended up being comfortable. The hotel is located in a good spot for walking, but with the bars and crowds, it was pretty noisy until about 2:30 in the morning.

Best most comfortable stay ever! Staff was so helpful and friendly, treated you like an old friend, and even the young ones wanted to tell you what’s in the town where to go and what to do. The historicity of the hotel is unforgettable and dear to history buffs. Free souvenir water bottles in each room, and a water station serving filtered and sparkling water to put in the bottles on each floor by each elevator. Just a gorgeous place!!! Lots of of towels etc. even a acquaint writing desk where I was actually able to get some work done on my computer.
