We had a day and two nights to spend in San Jose on our way to Nicaragua. We are so happy we found this place. Lovely, quiet and safe. Lily was a wonderful hostess and served us a very nice breakfast.

Fabulous stay! The owner Lily was welcoming and always helping and warm. The room was clean and had a good AC, which is not common for a boutique hotel. It did not have a fridge but we never felt need in it. Breakfast (choice of traditional rice&beans, pancakes or omelette with ham - our favorite) combined with delicious morning coffee, fruit and toasts with jam - fueled every beginning of the day with energy. Lily has advised us on the best tours in CR and actually connected us with an English-speaking taxi driver whom we hired for a few days, which turned out to be more convenient, cheaper and safer (not sharing a van with other tourists during the coronavirus outbreak). I highly recommend Casa Primo and would stay there again!

The property and room was lovely, clean, and comfortable with AC. The hotel is unique and classy. The breakfast was affordable and very tasty. The manager was so helpful and gracious! She even helped us track down the taxi in which I accidentally left my phone and it was returned shortly afterwards safe and sound. Amazing service, thank you!

My mom and I loved our stay at Casa Primo - a boutique hotel in a Spanish inspired mansion. Lily was such a great host, she is so attentive and genuine. she really went out her way to help us through our traveling in costa rica. The hotel is super clean, cozy and well maintained. It is in a nice quite peaceful neighborhood that is in the mid way between airport and San Jose city. Thank you Lily, you really made our stays in Casa Primo more special! We really appreciated your help!

Nice Quiet Neighborhood
Excellent location in a nice quiet neighborhood. It is reasonably close to the airport, and only a few short blocks to very nice restaurants. The proprietors are gracious hosts, their English is excellent, and they go out of their way to be helpful. We will stay there again next trip!

I HATE to leave bad reviews. I know there are real people, with bills and families behind the establishment. But this mess up was so next level, I have to address it. I will start by saying THANKFULLY they are connected to another nearby hotel, so a super stressful situation was averted, as we did end up having a place to stay. And the staff at Terrazze de Golf wend above and beyond to make our stay lovely. They get 5 stars. But, back to Casa Primo.... I booked our stay months back. We had multiple conversations about our stay (when we arrive, if meals where available, etc). We arrived at 4 on New Years Eve (our family of 5: my husband and I , and our 3 kids (11, 8, and 1), and we get to Casa Primo and the doors are locked, and the hotel dark. Very strange. Have they closed down? We call and call, no answer. So we are upset and scrambling. For 45 min we are in the parking lot looking for nearby hotels where we can stay, but, again, it’s New Year’s Eve. We had been up since 3 am, everyone is exhausted, and this is not good. At 50 minutes a van full of people pull up. We tell them no one is here, it appears to be closed. They tell us they actually booked the entire hotel for themselves last week, and that it’s impossible we are staying there. What?! Long story short, he calls the owner/manager (lily) and she tells us to go to the nearby hotel. Thank goodness. But again, what?! A confirmed reservation booked months ago, and this? Too big a mess up when traveling w kids. :(

I am so sorry for the inconvenience with your reservation and for the stressful situation you had, but we made a mistake because you had two reservations with us one of that on Jan 06th, and for some reason in our system we lost your reservation from Dec 31th. Some times the availability was not correctly updated in the web site (we didn´t have availability on Dec 31th since one year before and your reservation entered nevertheless); we realize one day before of your arrival about this situation and we made a reservation for you at terrazas de Golf Boutique offering to you a really good option in a Hotel with a higher rate, apparently you did not receive the message explaining the situation. Please receive our apologies for the bad time but human errors can happen to anyone, however we do not escape our responsibility with our guests to offer them a place to rest with the requested conditions or better. This is like staying at a friend’s home. A good friend. The owners are amazing. They want nothing more than to make sure you are happy and have everything you need. The food was great: I don’t usually eat breakfast, but I did there!! When I come back to Costa Rica, this is where I will be staying. No doubt.

Loved it.
Great stay for an overnight to catch our plane in the morning. Receptionist was very nice, she gave us complimentary beverages upon check in. Room was large and had everything we needed. Close to restaurants. Room had A/C which was great as we did not have that luxury at the other places we stayed at in Costa Rica. This is not your typical hotel as it seemed to be a converted very large home in a quiet neighborhood, 15 minutes to the airport. Great and reasonable rate, we had 5 in our party and a lot of the other hotels/resorts wanted to charge us extra. Highly recommend.

We loved staying here! We were surprised how nice it was for the price. The room and bathroom were large, good quality, and clean. The neighborhood was nice and safe, and check-in and out was great. The hotel was more like a bed and breakfast- only five rooms, very quiet and secluded. We were the only guests at the time which felt funny but was also nice because it was so quiet and we had the whole place to ourselves. The only thing that was weird was that to enter the hotel you had to ring be let in, you don’t have a key. But that wasn’t a problem. Also wish the shower had more water pressure but not a big deal. Highly recommend you stay here! The staff was really nice as well and it’s very close to the airport so super convenient. Also wish the pool had been cleaned and turned on before we got there.

Great family stay
Lily was an amazing host. Upon our late arrival from the US, she welcomed us warmly and paid the driver on our behalf (to be added to our bill of course). In the morning she prepared for us the traditional Costa Rican Galo Pinto Cooked to order, in addition to other breakfast varieties. She even drove me to car rental next morning to get my car and offered me money exchange! The hotel itself is decent. A little older, but clean. It has good access to airport, San Jose, and the highway to Jaco beach. We were a family of 2 adults and 3 kids and feel the stay went well. I recommend trying it for sure!

This was a lovely, quiet, clean place. The Caribe shuttle does not stop there, so I enjoyed a fifteen minute walk through a pretty and safe feeling neighborhood. Lily helped me to order a decent dinner delivered ( rotisserie chicken and typical sides). Too chilly to use the pool. Hot tub not hot. Room very comfortable. Lily also arranged a car for my early departure. Missed breakfast. Not the most convenient for my purposes, in retrospect ( had to pay extra for car to airport, not on shuttle route) but that was my mistake. In all, a lovely respite from staying in rustic surroundings at Puerto Viejo.

Hello: Thank you for staying with us. Our location it is quiet out of the noise of city traffic. We offer free transfer service to restaurantes area, and main pick up and drop off points where shuttle stops in Cariari City. Private transportation to the airport it is an extra service ($15.00 US). Hot tube is an additional service under requests. The pool is not heating that is why temperature is depending the weather in San Jose. Kind Regards

Best place ever near the Airport!
I cannot rave enough about this place, and for the price; a NO brainer. The owners may be the most accommodating and friendliest people I have ever met. I come to Costa Rica a lot and this will now be my goto hotel by the airport! It is safe, clean, near a great complex of restaurants and the owners will go out of their way to help you with anything form getting you to a restaurant nearby or booking your airport transportation.

Lilly was an awesome host who went above and beyond in many ways. Air Canada lost our luggage and she helped us find shopping facilities to replace our basic toiletries etc. As well, she searched out some medical supply stores to replace medical things that I inadvertently left in my checked luggage. She drove us to and from a local restaurant as well. Perfect spot close to the airport.

Family Vacation
The staff is extremely friendly. The room is a very good size and very clean. They have a sit down breakfast where you choose between pancakes eggs and comes with a fruit plate juice and coffee and tea. Anthony setup excursions for us. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful spot in San Jose (10-15 minutes airport)
Just perfect. Not to far from San Jose airport, but far enough to sleep well and not hear the planes and fabulous service from husband and wife owners. Nothing too much. We ordered poached, scrambled, fried, and boiled eggs for breakfast - all perfectly cooked. Would recommend to anyone.

Lilly, the owner is fantastically! We will always stay there when in San Jose. She arranged a car to the airport and we were able to include the charge on the same bill with our room. We had to leave too early to enjoy their amazing breakfast!! Classic Costa Rica!!
