There's absolutely no parking at this location, so if you have a car don't book here. also the restroom and bathrooms are communal if you have children or are uncomfortable with this 'do not' book here. The homeless surrounding the facility are absolutely scary.

If you like no parking, no bathroom in your room, no places to eat, homeless yelling at all hours of the day/night, traffic noise, windows that you can't see out of because of the massive amount of dirt on them, zero amenities, then this place is for you.

The room was cute and very clean. There were enough bathrooms down the hall, with large, clean walk-in showers. There were hangers in the closet, a hair dryer, and an ironing board with iron. However, the place was also very odd. There was not a single cup or mug in the room, and no sign of the promised coffeemaker. The photos show a breakfast buffet, but there is no breakfast, no coffee, no tea, nothing. And, to top it off, there was no heat. The in-room ancient steam radiator was cold to the touch. It was 50 degrees outside, so not terrible, but I was chilly in the room. Civic Center is a difficult neighborhood. There are a lot of unhoused people living rough on the street, right next to expensive high rise luxury apartments and condos. If you are alert and comfortable in an urban environment, it's fine, but some people will feel unsafe.

This hotel has terrible smell. The worst is this hotel did not refund, when checked out in 10 mins check-in, the reception said it will be refund in few days. But even email contacted this hotel many times through Expedia, the hotel still did not refund. Any one should take my lesson, please do not choose this hotel.

Musty, dirty room.
Do not stay at this hotel, it is disgusting. Not worth the cheaper price and the “good reviews” are not real. I reserved what I thought was a better room with a private bathroom and king bed. The room smelled musty and moldy, the bedding was not clean and there was no fitted sheet. There are no screens on the windows and the towels are tiny. This room is not worth what they charge. Find a different hotel.

The staff were warm and friendly. It’s an old building, but it suited our purposes perfectly. We came in for a show at bill grahm civic auditorium - right next door. Walked all over the city. The Bed was comfortable. The room felt pretty clean. Good value for sure!

There were so many problems with this hotel. Often there was no staff present at the front desk or reachable by phone. The rooms have communal bathrooms but they don't seem to ever clean or service the bathrooms. The showers are also communal showers and are very tiny. There is no room in the shower to put your stuff so everything gets wet and if the humidity gets on your keycard then it wont work to get back in your room so you will have to go down to the lobby in your wet clothes and wait for some staff to show up so you can get a new key. I'm not joking this happened to my two nights in a row.

Nowhere did it say on the booking their isn’t on site parking we took over an hour looking for parking still needing to walk 16 minutes from the parking the main lobby staff recommend for us to park at with all our luggage . Rooms where dirty the restroom smelled like armpits so bad we choose to not shower will never book here again

Marvelous location, clean, reasonably quiet.comfortable bed with nice linens No soap or shampoo in the shower, no Kleenex in the dispenser in room, no cup or coffee pod for the coffee maker. Because of price, cleanliness and location I would stay there again

After reading some less than favorable reviews, my expectations were not high. However, my stay was pleasant and consider this hotel as a good value. Good, but not great, location on Market Street close to Civic center and public transportation. BART station is 2 blocks and the escalator was out of order, but that's another story. My room was very clean and the shared bath was well maintained. This area is much safer since the city moved the homeless encampment out of the civic center mall. The staff was pleasant and check in was efficient. I would stay here, again.

Disappointing
Appears to be an old hotel/rooming house that was updated. Fresh paint all around and new carpets and secure doors a plus. Windows filthy and no screen on mine in room. Old dresser drawers stayed full open due to unlevel floor. The location is good to get around easy. Walkable to a lot plus public transit options nearby (Muni and BART). But that area of Market St has its share of unhoused people and lots of open drug use and bodily relief. The street is really grimy. SF has a tough job keeping this area clean. For SF, the room rate was decent, but be prepared to abandon basic hospitality expectations. Hotel amenities lacking. No coffee maker in my room and had to ask. They seemed annoyed at that, especially when I further asked for the associated coffee pods and cups. I had a room w/bath but no soap in shower (one small bar for the in-room sink). No room changeover or fresh towels over 3 nights. After the coffee maker incident, the staff had an unwelcoming attitude toward me when I passed. I am not a high maintenance traveler but just felt unwelcome there.

The hotel is not in the safest part of town, but the property is safe. The room was clean except for gnats everywhere and no remote for the tv. The community bathrooms are clean, but you have to look around for toilet paper, shampoo, and shower gel (most bathrooms/showers are missing at least one of these products). You're better off going to the corner store and buying these yourself. San Francisco is a horrible city to visit but if you do stay there, this hotel isn't a bad choice. The location is convenient to most attractions, shopping, and restaurants.

Do not go here. I stayed here this past March and the hotel has been unprofessional in cooperating with billing issues. When I decided to change rooms, I was assured by the front desk that only the days that I stayed for our previous reservation would be charged, while the rest would be refunded. This refund has still not gone through. For our second billing issue, we had made an accidental double booking and were looking for a refund for one of them. When talking with the hotel directly, as well as our travel agent, the hotel kept dismissing the subject and attempted to focus on other non-related matters. I have not received a refund on my card which amounts to close to $900. What a nightmare.

Absolute SCAM of a hotel. They tried to put my 5-year-old kids in a different room than myself and my wife me. Then when we refused that and told them we would get a different hotel and cancel our reservation, "bob" the Indian guy at the front reassured us we wouldn't be charged for the hotel. I am still disputing the $150 charge to my credit card over 1 month later. DO NOT DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

The hotel is closed!! It’s been closed for the past four months due to booked a room a week or two ago and I finally got a response back saying I’m not getting a refund. It’ll allow you to book a room but doesn’t inform you that it’s closed!!!
