"We really enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Montreuil, which is a lovely boutique hotel set in large gardens near the citadel. Terrific location and easy to walk into and around the town centre. Their restaurant was excellent, with all five in our party well satisfied with our 3-course meal, wine and service. Highly recommended."

Being returning guests, who enjoy the village and surrounding area, are aware that if you are unable to check-in before the restaurant closes for lunch time service, you have to wait until 18.00hrs when restaurant re opens for evening service to check-in, though there is a phone number on the door. Expedia on their confirmation says you can check-in anytime from 14.00hrs."

"My only criticism of the hotel is the breakfast offering. Being in France one would expect fabulous fresh croissants and great coffee. Neither the case here. Stodgy not fresh croissants/pain au chocolate and not good coffee out of the machines."
