This place was amazing from the moment we arrived. Staff were all so lovely and helpful. The accommodation was clean and beds were really comfortable. Views were spectacular and the excursions were all excellent.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. The room and accommodation were very clean. We stayed in an aurora cabin and it was perfect to see the northern lights!
Every part of this stay at Star Arctic was truly amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, including the driver to/from the airport who told us stories about the Auroras and life as a reindeer herder. The activities were so much fun, huskies were a highlight of the trip. In our last evening, the Northern Lights made a spectacular show and we were greeted with champagne on our return to the room as a special treat on our 25th anniversary. Truly, a once in a lifetime experience!

Such a great view, we were able to see the northern lights all time while we were staying
Absolutely five star job by the entire staff. Not only was the stay perfect. The breakfast was amazing and the excursions were incredible. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
We stayed in a glass igloo at Star Arctic Hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel is situated high up on the mountain, making it a great spot for viewing the Northern Lights. Although the northern lights activity level wasn’t very strong during our stay, we still really enjoyed the experience and the unique setting.
The glass igloo was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The hotel overall felt cosy and relaxing, and the reception staff were especially helpful and friendly, which made our stay even more pleasant.
One small issue we encountered was with the roof heating system used to melt snow. When it was left on for a long time, we noticed some water dripping from the ceiling. While it didn’t ruin our stay, it’s something the hotel could look into improving.
Overall, it was a memorable stay in a beautiful location, and we would still recommend Star Arctic Hotel to anyone looking for a unique Arctic experience in Saariselkä.
The hotel is in a fantastic location and the glass rooms are done really well. We were unlucky to not see the northern lights but we still had a great time.

The hotel is very well designed (We saw perfect northern light on the 2nd night). Really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the facilities, friendly and efficient staff, excellently organised activities.
Great location at a great viewing point for the Northern Lights. Good access to Saariselka ski resort & toboggan run. Food is sub-par, so we ended up going to the village.
This is a premium hotel, located atop a hill with amazing views, offering accommodations and a myriad of activities for both couples and families. We had a room with sauna which was well worth it after a cold day full of activities.
We area arranged 6 activities via the hotel. Our favorites were day and evening snowmobiling, huskies and snowshoing. There also is a ski slop and tobogganing up hill from the hotel. Take advantage of those.
Last but not last, the staff were very attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

Amazing experience, the staff was very kind and helpful, the hotel is a very friendly atmosphere and excellent service , we hope one day we will be able to come back!
We did not get to go to this resort because I had to fly back home and be admitted into the hospital due to a chronic terminal illness. I asked if they could kindly give us a credit if we are able to return next year to use at the resort and they said no. I was not asking for a refund or anything like that. Just a credit to use what we’d already paid for if we are able to return next. I would think they would show Someone with this level of serious life threatening illness a little compassion.
My stay at Star Arctic Hotel was one of the best experiences I had. I stayed the glass ceiling cabin which was very cozy and very clean. The staff was very hospitable and attending, they go above and beyond to help you especially Hanna. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
All good except lack of snow made us cancel the dogsleding

Really positive stay and we loved the room except for a few negatives:
Tv is positioned way too high up to the ceiling. We could hear the neighbors in our room in the morning. Stairs up to the bed kind of almost damgerous
Lobby is disappointing, only one couch to sit by the fire
Excellent hotel overall.
We had the Aurora Cabin.
Rooms are extremely comfortable and well thought out. Heated floors, comfortable bed, heated windows for the night sky view. Bathroom well designed.
Breakfast is included and there’s plenty to choose from : the usual toast and spreads, cereal, hot food (eggs/bacon/sausages etc), yogurt with plenty of toppings, cheeses and cold cuts, fruit and desserts. Plenty of hot drinks on the machine to choose from and the hot choc was great!
Dinner at Kaunis was excellent and well worth trying.
Staff extremely polite and friendly.
30 min walk to Saariselka town in the snow.
I suggest renting a car.
No complaints here and we are already planning our next trip.
