I am writing to express my profound disappointment and grievance regarding a recent rental experience with Rachelle in Rome. The property was egregiously misrepresented in its listing, bearing little resemblance to the advertised amenities and conditions. Contrary to the claim of a terrace with a scenic view of the Colosseum, the actual window was looking at a disposal area. The promised in-room jacuzzi and pool was nonexistent. Furthermore, the property exhibited a pervasive odor of mothballs and stale tobacco smoke, indicative of poor maintenance and disregard for hygiene. The property was cluttered with random junk strewn about. The description of 'private quarters' was a blatant misnomer, as the accommodation consisted merely of a spare bedroom adjacent to the host's, within a shared apartment. The listing was described as a private guesthouse not a shared apartment room. The lack of soundproofing afforded no privacy, with audible conversations from the host's room permeating the space. The overall condition of the apartment was one of disrepair and neglect, falling far short of acceptable standards for habitation. Adding to the deception, Rachelle notified me of an ‘upgrade' the day before my arrival, claiming the originally booked property was unavailable. However, upon inspection, it became evident that this was a fabrication, as the apartment contained only two bedrooms, and the host was living in the other room. I will continue to push this issue further.
