The best thing about this hotel is the location! Located close to shopping, & the Via Milano area. The hotel is old & very musty. It needs updating badly! There were 4 of us in our group in 3 different rooms on different floors. Our room was nice & large BUT was spread out on two levels with the beds & bath upstairs. The steps were glass, steep, & slippery. You did not want to be walking down them in socks especially if you are an older adult. Since neither of us were able to carry our suitcases up the stairs, we were constantly running up & down to get ready.
The beds were hard as a rock but were clean. The bathroom, though, was another issue. There was mold growing not only in the shower but you could see the stains of mildew creeping up the wall behind the door. Since I am very sensitive to mold, I was ill by the time I left the hotel. The wall overlooking the downstairs living area & door to the bathroom are both frosted glass. You are able to see the silhouette of the person who is in the bathroom.
The front desk people were usually rude with the exception of one girl. She was helpful. The breakfast was different than anywhere I have been in Europe before. They didn’t have much protein except extremely runny scrambled eggs, “bacon”, and luncheon meats. They did have sandwiches which were one thin slice of luncheon meat & cheese between focaccia bread. They actually had “pigs in a blanket” our first morning there. I grabbed the last one. Those were good but ran out.
