This place sucked all the happiness from my trip to Italy. Do not book this Hotel. This place doesn’t look even close as on pictures. Everything damaged, old, dusty, mold, outlets are unsafe, beds are horrible. Why Expedia allows this hotel here with the pictures that don’t match to reality it’s the other question

The hotel was simple and plain. The rooms are a little small. Beds, nightstand, no sofa or chairs. The beds were pretty comfortable, and within 20 mins walk from most things. Termini train station was under a 10 min walk. The room was clean and no issues. TV was a smart tv, and we logged into our Netflix acct. Hardly spent much time in the room, but it was comfortable and clean for the price. I would stay here again at these rates. Everything needed was nearby, food, pharmacy, and shops.

The hotel is a small property nestled between buildings. I was misguided by the profile picture of the hotel. Instead it is a typical small Roman hotel. The rooms were tiny with a non working AC. Not that we still needed it as the weather was still cool something to keep in mind during summer months. The saving grace was the proximity to termini station and some other major attractions . Plenty of restaurants around. Overall we could do better.

This is the first time I have ever left a negative review but feel like I should do so can be helpful to other tourists. This hotel was the worst one of the whole 5 hotels I have booked for our entire Europe trip. Very very noisy, couldn’t sleep at all. The only time was quiet for the whole night possibly only at 4am-5am. My husband said there was a cockroach in the room too.

Hotel Sonya is a great place to stay. It to walkable to most of the main attractions. The staff was fantastic and met all our needs. Lots on food options nearby. It is located less than a five minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient. We would stay here again on our next trip to Rome.

Hotel was amazing , staff friendly someone downstairs all night. Anything we needed they had all hours of the night ice, iron , hair dryer they were right there if we needed them. Secure door downstairs needed key to get in which was nice since 3 women traveling alone. Air conditioning in room worked great . Water pressure in shower wonderful never ran out of hot water for 3 women that’s amazing ! Directly across the street coffee, breakfast, grocery store. 5 min walk to main terminal train, bus, metro. We lucked out when we booked this hotel!!!

There were numerous fantastic restaurants near the property. We couldn’t eat fast enough to try them all! The hotel room was quite run down, the beds were rock hard and the bathroom and shower were TINY. We had to step over the foot bath to get to the commode. The staff were lovely people and the location was outstanding.

This hotel is located very close to the main train station Termini 7-10 min walk a lot of dining areas around the area the room the clean and spacious, I would recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly. Came during the off season with beautiful mid 60's weather so the window's were open, so I have no opinion on the installed AC units. The elevator broke on our last day (we were on the 5th floor), but they were fixing it while we checked out that morning. The bed was very firm, that's about the only complaint, otherwise, it was a good stay over all.

I had gotten bumped from my flight and was so happy to find this hotel with 24 hour desk service. There are several stores and restaurants nearby. Cussltomer service is a priority. The bed is the most comfortable I've slept in after being in 5 hotels in the last few weeks. Ron is very clean and offers a nice amount is storage, va small fridge, v desk, very clean bathroom with hot water, a toilet and bedee, and very condors towels. Can adjust the heat and item windows without issue. I am from a city so nose does not bother me. There was a concert that wrapped up at 8 pm. Only bosses were traffic and restaurant patrons until early morning when recycling and trash trucks are loud and there was an odd noise at 7am, like vacuuming or work being done close by. If definitely stay here again and if I did not know I was a couple blocks from Termini, one would not know. It's very convenient to busses and trains and walkable. As with every city, watch phones and wallets in Rome.

Pros: close to train station room was average, not super fancy but still nice complimentary water but tasted disgusting (better off drinking from the fountains) good amount of towels but need to request new ones by leaving them on the ground Cons: beds were alright if not a bit hard blankets could be better and felt like they weren’t really washed the worst part was definitely dealing with the staff- extremely confusing and frustrating given that they switch staff members every couple hours or so and their understanding of english seems to be limited given the amount of misunderstandings we had when trying to resolve the issue, staff was not very accommodating or helpful but rather dismissive and condescending. overall, I would have chosen a different hotel somewhere else in the city and even splurged more to have more pleasant staff and avoid the headache. save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Stayed at the Hotel Sonya for three nights our last time in Rome. We have stayed at the Hotel Sonya three times, the first time back in 2014, and again in 2018. Hate to say it, but it is not the same Hotel it once was. First, when we entered the lobby, the man behind the desk asked me to wait just a minute, then continued to BS with some woman. Five minutes later she left then the man asked for our passports, made copies and handed them back to us, without saying anything else. Five minutes later a second man came down and sat behind the desk staring at the computer. A few minutes later he asked “may I help you?“. The whole welcoming was not very welcoming! The hotel, including our room was clean, but has just not been kept up, and in a word, was dingy! The air conditioning was sub-par at best. And we put a bottle of wine in our in-room refrigerator. Let’s just say, it would have been colder if we had set it in the window. Definitely our last stay at Hotel Sonya.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sonya. That staff was very friends, the room large, clean and comfortable. Great location to getting around Rome. The only negative comment is that the internet was slow and spotty.

This hotel is in an excellent location. It is very close to both a metro station and the train terminal. It is also within walking distance to many attractions such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and across the street from the Opera House. The street it is on has restaurants, cafes, groceries stores and other hotels. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. That being said, the rooms are very worn and tired. The drains are blocked and you can hear noise from other guests as well as noise from the street. The entire hotel is poorly lit and the elevator is antique and can only hold two people at a time. Definite pros and cons, but if you are spending very little time in the room, it serves its purpose.

It was nice staying here BUT I am disappointed to the taxi driver. Yes, this message is about the taxi driver. I would NOT recommend Taxi driver number 26. PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM EVER. He was RUDE. I think he is NOT mentally well and should NOT be working as one. It tells me he hated his job! Besides being rude, the taxi driver OVERcharged me. And while he was driving, he told me that I should have walked to the station. So he dropped me off at the Trenitalia bus area where he was NOT allowed to drop off any passengers. I had to walk a long way, with my 2 heavy luggages, to get to the RIGHT area where I was supposed to be. The entire time the taxi driver was YELLING inside the vehicle because he had gotten into an argument with the people at bus area. The taxi driver didn’t like it when he was told that he should know better! YES, I understand Italian! I just can’t speak it.

Hotel Soyna is a great choice for a stay in Rome. Located across the street from the opera house. Conveniently within walking distance of Termini Station for a quick train to the airport or nearby metro stops. Great restaurants along the street too!

The location and room size were great. The air conditioning is non existent even though the front desk said it was working properly. Thankfully the front desk guy let me take his fan into my room. Come to think of it the fan at his desk should have beeny first clue they don't have good air conditioning. I would stay again since I like to sleep without sweating.
