Ligamos de acordo com o que foi a orientação para checkin, chegamos por volta das 22h noite no endereço indicado como o hotel, de acordo com o endereço do hoteis.com, de fato era mesmo o endereço do hotel, tivemos que esperar na rua por aproximadamente 40minutos após o contato telefônico. Quando chegou o representante do hotel, não sei por qual motivo, pois não nos comentou, mas não tinha vaga no endereço indicado, então nós levou para um outro endereço, cerca de uns 800 metros do local que era o indicado, passava das 23h e estávamos com nossa filha de 5 anos de idade, ele o representante do hotel levou todas as malas no carro, porém tivemos que ir caminhando.

Not recommendable!!!

The arrival at the hotel was easy to manage, but then the first surprise was that the hotel was actually a guest house and we were allocated one room. The so called "breakfast" were pre-packed buns and some sweet croissants lying on the desk. Butter was in the fridge and no cuttlery in the room. Before arrival I asked my italian colleague to confirm the details of the room via phone, incl. the presence of a hairdryer. The owner of this guest house confirmed that there is a hairdryer, but there was none. The first night came and we still did not receive our cuttlery. Anyhow the next morning we realised that the double bed is infested with bed bugs and the sheet showed spotty stains of blood and dead bugs on the sheet. Calling the guest house owner was not successful. He said "Oh!" and never called me back or left a message in the room. Returning to the guest room, we expected the room to be cleaned by now or at least some cleaning must have been done. This was not the case because on day 2 my skin started to develop skin reactions where the bugs have stung me and some more live bugs. Me and my husband were mostly affected by this. I am lucky that the kids were not stung. On the last day when we handed over the keys I explained and showed my skin reactions all over my arms and legs, but again no reaction. I will visit the dermatlogist, coz I am still suffering. I am still waiting for an explanation and a callback from Expedia Customer Service and the refund of this booking.

Good location, limited facilities

I stayed for almost a week at Camere del Cavaliere. Expedia offered me this hotel one week before my trip; I had booked elsewhere, but they told me that the other place couldn't honour the booking; I accepted a second place, which also cancelled on me, and so had to take this place due to the short notice. The hotel appears to be in a converted apartment, with four bedrooms and no common areas. Check-in was easy: although there is no check-in desk, the staff contacted me by text message, and came to let me in when I arrived. Note that the lack of a reception means you can't leave your luggage after checking out if you're leaving town later. The hotel is very conveniently located about 10 mins from the Vatican and 5 mins from Ottaviano metro station to get to the centre. There are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby, most of which are cheaper than places downtown. Staff were helpful (no communication difficulties), and the room was kept clean. However, there were several weak points. First, there is not enough hot water. Each room has its own water heater, but these only supply enough for a 5 minute shower, and take ages to heat up. This was my main gripe. Second, breakfast consisted of two bread rolls per person, and access to the coffee machine. Don't expect a hearty breakfast before your sightseeing! Some yoghurt, cold meats etc might help. Third, the pillows were too soft and thin, and only one per guest. Overall, the place was decent enough but not outstanding.
