"Beautiful hotel. Hot tubs and sauna have beautiful views. A couple of off-putting things about a hotel of this quality were the melamine plates used for breakfast (very cheap!) and the fact that we had to pre-pay for breakfast before being allowed into the breakfast area. Such bad taste!"
"After I read some of reviews, I expected that hotel would be not very nice. It actually suprized me and my 19/21 kids. They enjoy two story room with their beds in the loft and spiral staircase that brought them upstairs. It is also interesting to be inside school like building. Parking is free and plenty. Property well maintained and there are working elevators. We had to pay additional fee for city tax in addition to what Expedia charged us."
"Very nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The curtain could be more opaque (for summer nighttime sunlight). Also, the bathroom smelled slightly of cigarettes (probably coming through the ventilation)."
"the cabin was a dream! it was perfect! and the staff was awesome! check in was smooth even though we were very late, wish we had more than one night to stay, but definitely will book it again if we will be in the area."
"This was the one place on our Iceland trip that we were nervous about our choice since it had received not so great reviews. Maybe because we had low expectations or that we arrived at 11:30pm and left by 9am the next day, but we had no issues with waiting to use the one bathroom or kitchen. We were in the biggest family room which had twin bunk beds and a king bed. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed and was stylish. We had our breakfast on the deck in the sunshine. I think there was 3 of the 4 rooms rented while we were there. Maybe if we were spending more time there it might have been too tight quarters but it was fine for an overnight. There are not many options in the area for a reasonable price."
"The family cottage we stayed in was nice; it was clean and had a nice couch and sitting area. The small kitchen was also very useful for making an early breakfast, since we left before the complimentary breakfast was served. The only detractor is that this place is very far from Egilstadir. The drive is on miles and miles of bumpy gravel roads to get there - at least a half an hour from Egilstaddir. I recommend any traveler ensure that they know this. On the other hand, it is a good place from which to venture out to Hafnarholmi in Bogarfjurdor Eystri to see the puffins at night, and a great place to launch out from to go to Studagil Canyon."
