"The update to the property was tastefully done and it is very convenient to have the motel style layout especially if you are staying for a short period. The only drawback for me was that it smelled musty. I stayed here before and that wasn’t an issue the last time so maybe it was just the particular room."

"This propery has been remodeled. The room had a modern contemporary design which I appreciated. Simple decor, and clean. No elevators though. It had sufficient parking near the room. Coffee available in the office. I liked it. Would stay here again. AC worked great."

"The front desk staff is outstanding! They took the time to talk with us, provided us with information about the area, and recommended places to visit. Our unit was very nice and clean. It came with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. CJ at the front desk also suggested that I use the nice covered parking spot next to our unit. Breakfast was included and was good. They also have free cookies every night, which was a nice touch! The hotel is just a block away from the beach. We had a lovely time in Santa Barbara. We’ll definitely book at The Franciscan again on our next visit!"

"My reviews are almost always based on the level of cleanliness where I stay and this place has my approval. This makes me immediately feel comfortable and assured i will relax and enjoy my stay without worrying about germs or other visible proof of someone else's stay there. Aside from the cleanliness, staff is friendly, accommodating, and not too much in your face. Breakfast is a plus as we were able to grab it downstairs and eat it on our balcony overlooking the harbor. The location is great and walking distance to the beach and good restaurants. Also, a quick ride to other shops, bars and restaurants on State Street with the security of our own parking so we can come and go as we please. Overall, highly recommend and hope to return."
