If it's your first time traveling during the COVID-19 outbreak, you'll notice a host of new restrictions and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your trip to Rio Celeste a smooth one:

• Find out the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check government advisories before booking.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• If you're bringing food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
