We had no complaints it does what it says on the box, but the place is very tired, obviously the price reflects this. The staff were all helpful and friendly.
Thanks
On arrival it looked like it had been used for government contracts, very tired and in need of a face lift, staff were very helpful and breakfast in morning was top notch

Honest review
The hotel is a little old and could do with a refurb BUT the staff were friendly, the room
was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet which for me are the four most important things in a hotel stay!
Dated, horrible, I was able to hear the person next door having a bath, everything is old and horrible except the TV. The sheets were clean.
I wanted my money back
We were visiting our son who lived a 5 min drive away.
It was really only somewhere for us to sleep wash and have breakfast. The hotel was ideal for us. People were very friendly and breakfast was lovely.

Mixed bag
There was a rowdy wedding going on and staff were overstretched. Shouting and banging of doors all night. Comfortable bed, but hair in the shower. Behaviour of other guests is of course out of the staff’s control, but more staff should have been on duty in anticipation.

Adequate accommodation
1st room had a very dirty toilet. We were moved to another room as there were no cleaning staff on duty.
2nd room was adequate. Room was warm and stuffy. Small double bed.
Food was good.
Staff were welcoming.

Good location, hotel needs a refresh
Staff were friendly and check in was quick. Good location, right on the main road in and out of Reading. On a bus route too with frequent busses. Not much around in terms of bars / restaurants. Our room needed updating. Grubby carpet and basic facilities in room. Very warm room too. Fan provided. Hairdryers in rooms too, don't make the mistake we made and buy a hairdryer as there is one in room (hotel doesn't promote this on their website.

the breakfast was excellent value and serving staff very good. You had to run the hot water for a full 5 mins before the hot water came through

Would definitely stay there again.
Pleasantly surprised. For the price we paid we were expecting something dismal but were just happy to have a bed for the night. Actually very good value for money. Tired but comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
One small point. We were absolutely delighted to find the room had a bath. Not so pleased when we went to run it and found no plug. 😥
Breakfast was exceptional value for money

Average
Average for a Best Western ...
A little bit 'tired' around the edges.
Comfy bed
Bathroom basin was cracked & other small details could be addressed
The Staff were great. The first room i was given was not fit for rats. The second room was ok for comfort, but shower leeked and toilet at times would not stop filling up.

Mediocre Western
Mediocre Western at best!
A bathtub that wouldn’t drain, the tape holding the panel onto the tub, the picture without glass, the blood stained mattress protector, the cracked and dirty China ware - just some of the negative elements found at this hotel during my stay. The reception staff were all exceptionally polite and courteous. The issue with the non-draining tub needed reporting twice. Public areas and my room were all very clean, the rooms; the very reason people use a hotel could desperately do with some of the magic already provided to the bar & restaurant area.
Excellent parking offered at no charge.
Would I stay again? Possibly.

Nice enough
Stayed for 2 nights with my boyfriend as we were visiting the area. Booked the hotel last minute but thought being a best western it would be ok. Staff were friendly and helpful which was lovely. But hotel very shabby, bed was comfy but pillows and duvet were awful. Room was comfortable and clean otherwise but the bathroom left a lot to be desired, not sure if it wasn’t clean enough or just needs updating. But gave me the ick a bit. But overall was a nice stay but didn’t feel it was value for money considering the things above.
Arrived after driving all night from Scotland for a family funeral in Reading area. Allocated rooms 3&9 the corridor had a horrible smell and the rooms looked like they required a full refurbishment. We went straight to bed as we were all shattered. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom tap leaked as did the shower and was extremely noisy. Got woken up at 5am with the Fire alarm being set off, for the record this had not been logged at reception. We should have complained at the time but were too tired and straight out to attend funeral next day.
Building very shabby. Shower tray broken and didn't drain. No iron available. Constant smell of weed in the corridor. Breakfast was adequate but cold. On the plus side, the towels were pristine and the bed was comfortable.
