  • After husking and grilling coconuts following amazing recipes I promised I won't disclose, we wanted some rest by the lagoon to enjoy the surroundings and incredible locals (those guys are absolutely amazing!!). We discovered this place slightly out of town but still at walking distance where we could enjoy the lagoon with Kayaks or even walking during low tide. Pleasant rural outlook, away from area of bars and resorts, but a short drive to Muri shops, beach and dining. It is a comfortable apartment. The driveway is a bit rough, and I was glad to have got a taxi there, and hired a car next day, as it would have been hard to find in the dark.

Had a great time at Mario and Averil’s apartment. Was super clean and had everything we needed for our stay. They were so accommodating, helpful, and responsive to any questions that arose during our stay. The next time we’re in Raro, staying at Mario and Averil’s apartment once again will be at the top of our wishlist :).

Perfect Getaway Home

We had a lovely stay at the Avana Valley Heights Accommodation, very clean place, and a very unique location and amazing view. Would definitely and had recommended it to my family and friends. Would also be back to stay at this place again.

The apartment is in a very green area, super-quiet, and is equipped with everything in case you want to cook. There are also Wi-Fi and an Android TV, and several interesting books. Very clean. It is a 15 min walk to the main road and a few more minutes to Muri Beach where you can find convenience stores, food options and of course the splendid lagoon.

Avana Heights in Rarotonga Absolutely loved it. I had such a great experience staying there . Avril, the host, was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to assist us throughout our stay . She truly cares about the comfort and satisfaction of her guests. The apartment had all the amenities we needed and The location was perfect, with beautiful views and nearby attractions. I highly recommend Avana Heights for a memorable stay in Rarotonga! 🌴🏠😊

This was my second time in Rarotonga and I like it even more because of Avana Valley Heights. The property is inland and the scenery is beautiful. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the main road. The owners were very accommodating even with last minute requests. The Wifi was strong and didnt have any problems as I was there for work. I would definitely recommend this place.

Enjoy everything about the place love the beautiful mountains the view was breathtaking fresh air. And hearing the roosters alarm meeting the locals so lovely offering me a ride to the main road. It was a great unit,very peaceful and secluded and also only a short walk to Muri beach. Averil was a joy to deal with and I fully recommend staying if you want a amazing experience whilst in Rarotonga.

The property was as per pictures pubblished and 15 minutes walk from the main road. Very clean and with everything you need (kettle, toaster, washing machine,…). The owners very helpful and very easy to contact for any need. I can not that recommend this property. I enjoyed every single minutes in the island. Amazing holiday. Thank you Averil and Mario.

The place was back from the main road about a 15 minute walk and relatively quiet for Raro standards. There are roosters of course but not too many dogs that bark. Very good value for money.

I love the view the smell of the air nice and quite away from the main road and peaceful if you a person that wants to be alone this is the place there is nothing to not like the place but the internet and wi fi is not so good loved staying there and you have all amenities you need a kitchen shower washing machine and fridge if you a sporty person you can go and run around the property and go for walks too l would stay there again 😊😊

This property is approx 5-10mins walk off the main road, and is tucked away into the hillside with nice views of the valley and you never hear the road noise. You can park under the apartment and just walk up a few stairs to it, the apartment looks brand new and is very clean with all the amenities that one requires, including a washing machine, even a bookcase with a diverse collection of literature is provided, but it's the little things that I was impressed with e.g. Shopping bags are provided for your use whilst there, I love the insect screen doors and windows allow for the cool breeze without getting bitten by mosquitoes. The owners Averil and Mario are really nice genuine people and are very welcoming and helpful easy going characters. They made my holiday pleasant and easy, I would love to come back to Avana Valley Heights one day.

This is our second stay here. We love the peace and tranquillity of the valley and yet it's still accessible to Muri. the apartment is well appointed with everything you need. This is a great place to getaway from it all! Averil and Mario are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Tucked away in paradise

Tucked away inland, Avana Valley Heights is the perfect place to base yourself for all the activity in Muri without all the noise once you decide to call it a night. Nestled in the hills amongst coconut trees, roosters and a road that follows a river, this is the perfect appointed apartment style accomodation has everything you need for a self managed getaway. The owners made every effort to make our stay comfortable, arranging our transfers from the airport, coming by on the first day to help us get a bearing on the surroundings, dropping off fresh fruit and picking up our food scraps to give to the local pigs. We loved our stay and wish we could’ve stayed forever.

This little “jungalow” was exactly what I wanted. Nestled up on the mountain side and away from town. A short 15 minute walk and I was in town or on the beach. I was kept in fresh Papayas my entire stay. Averil and Mario were very gracious and helpful the entire stay
