Solo travelers, yoga students, women traveling alone, and people who want vegetarian, no-alcohol, no-smoking surroundings. Not ideal if you want nightlife, non-veg meals, or a riverside room on the Ganga. Upper Tapovan is quieter than Laxman Jhula, but it is uphill. Without a taxi or scooter, expect a climb with bags. Cafés, yoga schools, and shops are nearby; Laxman Jhula is a walk, not next door. Tell the driver: “Anandmaya Retreat, near Secret Garden Café, Upper Tapovan.”"
