"Second stay here, perfect place for a night or two, food and drink both excellent, staff very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend."

"Overall the Cadogan was very good, staff lovely and food and drink quality excellent. However, we were visiting over the hottest few days of the year to date and whilst steps had been taken to provide fans the rooms were still very hot and uncomfortable. Furthermore, my room faced the front of the property and main road. There is a traffic island immediately outside the property and the road is also fairly narrow and uneven. This means, unfortunately, that lorries do tend to 'trip over' the island repeatedly during the night and it sounds like they are shedding their loads each time! If you are a light sleeper then be warned it can be very noisy."

"Excellent welcome from Concierge taking our car, great guy. Good reception staff. Arrived back in evening for a drink after dinner, bar staff fairly dismissive that I was an inconvenience from one young lady especially.took a while to get served probably around 15 minutes after being told to go sit in the lounge. Still I won’t let one rude member spoil an enjoyable stay. On departure again the concierge was very helpful and friendly."

"This is a fabulous place to stay in Bury St Edmunds - easy to get to the town centre and the station. A very warm welcome, very comfortable, clean and well-equipped room. The bar areas and outside seating are excellent. The menu is inventive and the food very good, as is the array of wines and beers. The breakfast was way beyond expectation - I thought it was just going to be a continental breakfast as described in my booking, but it was way better than that. I really can’t fault this place - I certainly hope to be back there soon."

"The room was clean, but dated. The staff were friendly and very helpful We didn't have breakfast there, but only because we had other arrangements. We did have dinner the three nights we stayed, all of the meals were excellent and well presented. Parking was not a problem, enough space for all guests and staff. The hotel is an old property that oozes character and the garden is quiet and relaxing. The room we had does need some tlc to be honest, but for 3 nights it was acceptable."
