"Beautiful hotel, lovely spacious room with comfortable extra king size bed. Amazing outdoor pool. The breakfast and dinner buffets were very good. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you."

"The common areas of property were well maintained, staff appeared to be very diligent. The rooms appear clean, definitely wear and tear, cracked sink bowl, door closing was off, trim over sink in bathroom could use a scrub in the detailed woodwork. I called multiple times because our room door did not lock, could be pushed open from outside, would lock when we were inside. The maintenance guys did arrive and worked to get it fixed. We did notice though that the door then wouldn't lock with deadbolt. I also ordered kettle service and had to ask 3 times, I think they may have come when we were outside so they left. Property was lovely"

"Modern hotel within walking distance from the town centre . You are greeted on arrival by a glass of wine, which is a nice touch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and with a decent size wardrobe, plus a fridge and a desk. Pool view rooms have a balcony, which also get the sun. Breakfast is very good, with a good selection of hot and cold food There is a gentleman playing the piano each morning. There is also sparkling wine available. The only downside is that it's quite noisy, especially if the hotel is busy, with no soft furnishings to absorb the sound. The two pools are nice but the water was cold on our visit (May). There is a pool bar for drinks, and more than enough sun loungers. A downside is that the bar plays music all day which I think is too loud, and not to everyone's taste. My idea of a relaxing time by the pool is not necessarily listening to someone else's choice of music. I think this is something that that hotel should look to. You don't really need music at all by the pool in my opinion. There is a rooftop bar which has indoor and outdoor seating, and has live music some nights, and a DJ at other times, starting from 20:30. The Spa is a waste of time, the pool is only 3m by 10m, the steam room was out of order, and the sauna was under repair. I was in and out in 5 minutes! There is a €10 deposit for pool towels. Note that from 7th May the hotel have introduced a no cash policy for all bar and restaurant payments. "

"Lovely spot. The only thing that was disappointing was the coffee on the breakfast buffet. The buffet was very decent, but the coffee is terrible. It tastes like instant coffee."

"Fab breakfast, very clean hotel which looks to have been recently refurbished. Very helpful staff, although we didnt have much contact with them. The pool looked lovely but we didnt use it as the road noise wouldnt have been very relaxing. We found the location difficult as we like to walk everywhere, but the hotel is on a busy road that is difficult to cross and there is no safe way to walk into town. Staff did advise us to use ubers, which we did, but at €4 each way, twice a day, it made the "cheap hotel " a more expensive option than some of the alternatives in the town that had been available. There is soundproofing in the rooms, which was very effective, but our balcony was not pleasant to sit on due to the road noise which was disappointing. We stayed for 5 nights in May. A perfect stop over hotel if you have a car and are juat doing a couple of nights maximum. "

"The breakfast was buffet, we had a lot of choice plus hot omlettes and vegan sausages. However, i feel in most 5 star hotels you have more hot food options like hot pancakes and english breakfasts. The hotel is near so many restaurants and shops are 10 mins walk. Overall room was clean however we had to ask for slippers, spa access didn’t include sauna and steam. It just wasn't a fully 5 star stay! They made a real effort for my parents anniversary! "

"The ultimate escape to real luxury with genuinely fine people. I loved the restored 19th-century palace with very spacious and sleek bedrooms that opened up to individual, private patios fronted by lovely gardens and singing birds. The swimming pool was fresh water, and if you got chilly in the spring weather you could jump into the steam room or sauna. Views of the countryside from the terraces were spectacular. The cuisine was very well prepared, a good fusion of traditional Portuguese food with French gastronomic cuisine finesse. I do want to return to the Palacio, and it will be for a longer vacation here!"

"We booked this hotel for one night at the end of a three week trip. We arrived on a Sunday late evening after a long drive from Lisbon. Parking was very hard to find and had to walk a long way back to the hotel. Our room had a kettle and cups but no tea or coffee .When I went to reception to ask for tea and coffee I was told I could purchase some from them!!! or bring my own? We are global travellers and irrespective of hotel class where a kettle was provided there would be tea /coffee, I would have to purchase a box of tea bags a carton of milk and a packet of sugar. We were flying back home next morning making this a waste of money. The floor of our room was dirty under foot when you walk in bare feet. I later enquired about about the price of their wine and the prices were astronomical considering Portuguese wine is so reasonable this was taking the proverbial. The cooked breakfast was a bit disappointing, scrambled eggs very runny, bacon not real" bacon" no sausages, mushrooms or tomatoes . In a nutshell disappointing all around . Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend."
