We had a great experience. Kevin saved our bacon twice, when we managed to lock ourselves out of the room safe, and was also able to provide us with a week’s worth of ice, when we probably needed just 3 or 4 days worth, but his enthusiasm and sincerity scored points!

The resort and staff and accommodations at Shana by The Beach were absolutely fantastic. So friendly and kind, 24/7 front desk. Great restaurant and pools. Wonderful views! My room was HUGE, had everything I needed and a giant bathroom. They were so accommodating and the breakfast buffet was worth it! I would absolutely stay there again and again!

I loved the view and daily afternoon monkey visits. Breakfast was good and plenty choices, fresh fruits, local dishes and everything was delicious. Be carefull at the bar! They ripping turist off! I order drink that I didn't like, so I ask to add some coke. For splash of coke I was charged $3.50 like for the whole bottle of coke, but I didn't get the rest of the bottle nor get notified about extra charge. Also our room had joined door and seems that lots of room have that. We could hear people from the other room, last night we had some young people and didn't sleep till midnight! Amazing beach and great place for snorkle.

This property is beautiful and such a short walk from the beach. Our room was spacious and featured a private pool. Room service was speedy. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet featured a lot of options, and the restaurant had very tasty food. Definitely would recommend and return.

We had monkeys all over our balcony. I suspected we might see them, because there were several low hanging branches near our balcony (room 138). We even saw a Toucan. Breakfast was phenomenal and there were several other restaurants within walking distance (if you don’t mind hills).

The property was beautiful. It had a nice pool & a small adult pool. The room & view was awesome. Breakfast was wonderful. The beach was rather a difficult walk. The property had some steep inclines but they did have a person with a golf cart who could help if needed. We did have some noisy neighbors next to our room that had an adjoining door. After awhile, we called the front desk and they addressed the noise issue with the neighbors. The group settled down after that so we were able to sleep. There seemed to a shortage of parking in our area while we were there that may not always be the case.

The property was nice and clean. The rooms were well accommodating. With clean fresh smell. We did have a teeny problem with some tiny ants. But they weren’t too much of an annoyance. Couldn’t figure out where they were coming from but would only go into the clothing area as opposed to going into the kitchen. Hike to beach was fun for the kids. Lots of wildlife visible.

Rooms have full kitchen with pans, plates and utensils, however if you want to buy something from store - close-by store is not walking distance, have very limited inventory and very expensive.

We stayed at Shana for 6 nights. The staff of the hotel is amazing and very hospitable, they show that they love their jobs (like the back of their t-shirts says). Beginning with the front staff, Kevin and Katherine who were so nice. The bar staff, especially Warner who was super helpful and provided excellent service. The restaurant wait staff, Priscila and Lester were very accommodating and awesome. We met the chefs, Allan and Irwin. Allan came to our table to ask if the food was good, it was delicious. That was very special. Steven at the bar was very nice and Andrey was very nice too. The breakfast staff, Javier, Edgar and Lisandro were very nice and eager to assist with anything we needed. Lastly, Jairo who drives he golf cart was very generous and helpful. Overall, our stay was great mainly because of the wonderful staff and their eagerness to make sure we had everything we needed/wanted. I would recommend Shana by the beach as a great place to stay in the Quepos area.

The view of the sea, sunset… size of rooms. Check in was horrible, two seperate persons with little experience handling check in, could not find reservation, interrupted serving me to help other guests checking in or out…. Long wait times…. No efforts to find a room to check in earlier than standard times….

Staff were very friendly, responsive and genuinely made you feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are a little bit of paradise. The beach is a short walk down a jungle path and it is also lovely to lie by the pool and watch sloths, Toucans and Red Macaws in the trees as well as have the monkeys come by for a more boisterous visit. This is a place to come and relax.

All the staff was courteous, kind, and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable beds, with attention to detail. The property was immaculate and teaming wildlife. We saw sloths, monkeys, birds, iguanas, scarlet macaws, a few snakes, and a bunch of other animals I don’t know the name of. It’s was great!

Shana by the beach is an amazing boutique resort. Immersed in the rain forest with amazing views including the ocean. We were on a ladies trip and it was perfect. The staff are so welcoming and they love their job, literally as their shirts say it too. Ironically I didn't notice until my girlfriend called it out but genuinely they are so nice. We had the most amazing fried snapper and were so relaxed after hanging poolside, we ordered in one night in the evening. We also did the Cataraman sunset tour which I highly recommend. The drive to get to Shana is worth it but be prepared as it is a hike and once you are there, you have trails to the beach which is part of the rain forest and be on guard as the white belly monkeys will visit. I plan to go back with my family.

I've been here before and I loved it! However, when I booked a new trip, they neglected to inform me that the usual route was and would be out. It would cost me hundreds of dollars just to get there, and an 8-10 hour drive. And then the rice back. I did not have the time or the money, and had to cancel. I was not reimbursed and told they could just give alternate routes (which I could not afford). It's too bad, I loved this place.

Nos encantó nuestra habitación, muy limpia y segura, la ducha en perfectas condiciones con agua caliente. La vista del balcón hacia la zona de reserva es muy lindo, llegan monos a la propiedad, no son agresivos pero si les gusta llevarse cosas de las habitaciones, son bastante atrevidos, por lo que se recomienda mantener las puertas cerradas. Toda la experiencia en general, fue bellísima. El sendero hacia la playa es seguro y se toma unos 10 minutos para llegar a una playa sin olas. Definitivamente será nuestro hotel cada vez que visitemos Manuel Antonio.

This was our fancy night on an otherwise more budgeted trip and we LOVED it! Shana clings to the side of the hill at the end of a narrow road on a pretty undeveloped peninsula, so there are lots of animals in the surrounding jungle. We saw a sloth at the beach, and toucans and squirrel monkeys from the open-air restaurant. The pool was lovely. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was almost silly it was so large, I went snorkeling from the beach but didn't have good visibility. You can rent kayaks on the beach. The one downside is this isn't a good option for anyone who has mobility issues because it's on such a steep slope. There's a staff member with a golf cart to give anyone a ride from their room level up to the restaurant, etc., so that helps. The walk down to Playa Briensz is down (and up) a steep trail. Also, the view faces north, so you don't have a view of the ocean or the sunset.

喜歡：整潔度和住宿環境和硬體
Lovely room, cleaned thoroughly daily. The walk to and from the beach was a highlight. The restaurant was mediocre at best and it is an incredibly difficult walk uphill to get to other restaurants or stores. We had a full kitchen but could not buy water or other food while we were on the property. A shuttle service into town OR a small hotel shop selling food basics would have made this a perfect perfect stay. Beautiful and secluded with amazing beach. Ultimately, this is what really matters !
