"Our only disappointing event was dinner at the restaurant. It was so hot that one of our party could not stay for dinner and the fish on one of the dinners was spoilt. "

A truly a one of a kind wonderful experience
"This place was amazing. Very clean and updated. Beds were very comfortable. AC and Hot water worked flawless. Very very personal. Staff was the best we ever experienced and we stayed at many 5 star resorts. Pedro was lake personal concierge and helped us with everything. Every morning we weny to the bar and pool area at 6am for coffee and breakfast and Everytime Carly was there witb bright eyes and smile greeting us. Felt like home.
Bonus feature staying here was next to this hotel was a 22 acre private preserve with wildlife such as monkeys and sloths along with caged crocodiles and caymens. Also a butterfly garden. One of the coolest experiences is you will hear the howling monkeys early morning. Our last night they were in the trees above our bungalow. Loud for about an hour but one of the wildest experiences I ever had. The memories will.last forever.

"This hotel is in a great location. We loved being able to walk right out to the beach and eat dinner at night overlooking the ocean from the hotel’s restaurant. The food at the restaurant was really good. We probably would’ve eaten there even if we weren’t staying at the hotel."

"If you're looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay with amazing customer service, this is the place for you! We spent 4 nights at Gaia and thoroughly enjoyed our room and the staff. We booked a jungle view room and it was exactly what we expected ..clean, quiet and great AC. The next morning, Boris, the owner approached us at breakfast and informed us that he wanted to move us. He moved us to an amazing suite with a rooftop deck overlooking the ocean! Totally unexpected but appreciated! Carlos helped us get to know the place and helped us line up transportation to Tamarindo at the end of our trip and Jimmy made sure we were always fed and had our beverages whether it was morning coffee or evening cocktails. We enjoyed the vegan breakfast each morning as well as a couple of options for dinner. The view of the macaws each evening topped off the view The hotel provided us with transportation to the beach as well as set us up with a trip to the park. Overall, it was an amazing stay and we would do it again! Special thanks to the gentleman who came and saved us from our unexpected guest as well as our pool side bartender who we watched the monkeys with. Apologies for not knowing your names."

"The hotel got good reviews online, but this was one of those cases where the real thing EXCEEDED my expectations. The room and grounds were even nicer than they looked on the internet. There are actually two properties nearly adjacent to each other, as part of the hotel. We stayed at the Hotel Espadilla Gardens with a beautiful poolside view from our room. The Hotel Playa Espadilla was across the street (a smaller pool, but has a hot tub) and we had a delicious free breakfast there everyday. It was conveniently located a short walk to the beach near several restaurants, a market, souvenir shops, and of course was right by the famed Manuel Antonio park (we were so close to the entrance, we were able to walk). The kind and helpful staff happily arranged a tour guide and tickets to the park (which was actually really lucky, because otherwise the limited tickets were sold out during the busy week before Easter. They also arranged an awesome catamaran snorkeling trip. Note #1) The website noted laundry was available; I thought that meant self-serve, so I brought detergent; however it was a send-out service that charged by weight (of dried clothes) and was pretty expensive. Note #2) there were only a couple of electrical outlets, so charging devices was a little tricky. OVERALL, this was a TERRIFIC stay and I definitely would stay there again."
