The hotel was very nice. All of the staff was very pleasant and polite, including the bell man. Ignacio. One of the things I had a problem with at the hotel was the fact that they left us a bare minimum of towels each day. We didn’t even have face cloths until the sixth or seventh day of our nine day stay. Our major complaint was definitely the quality of the food. Our best experience was the Italian restaurant. The food there was à la carte and top quality Italian food. The lasagna was delicious. The soup was great the salad was always very fresh. All of the other restaurants, we found the food to be subpar. The best seafood at the seafood restaurant was tilapia, which most of us know is a tasteless fish and they did not season. As far as the Mexican food goes, I have had better Mexican food at a just OK restaurant in Arizona. Everything was sauces upon sauces upon sauces. Our favorite food was the club sandwiches that we could order through room service. We did at one point put a complaint in with the front desk, knowing that nothing could be done at that point. Another issue was that the pool was not heated. Next time we book a trip at a hotel with the pool I will make sure that it is heated. There were days that nobody was in the pool except for a few of the children and when the pool warmed up a little bit, it was mostly children in the pool. The adults were not comfortable with the cold water. This was most likely our last trip to Mexico.

I am writing this review to document a safety failure my family experienced during our stay and to warn other travelers. Late at night, while my wife, our child, and I were asleep, an unauthorized man entered our room. At that moment, we had no way of knowing that he was intoxicated or had the wrong room. We genuinely believed a break-in was occurring and feared for our safety. His behavior, movements, and loud noises were extremely frightening from the first second. I am physically smaller than the man who entered, which made the situation more intimidating, as my priority was to protect my wife and child. Our child was terrified, and the emotional impact of being woken by a stranger inside the room should not be dismissed, especially for families traveling with children. We recorded a short 13-second video of the incident, and everyone who has seen it said they would be extremely frightened and unsure how they would react in that situation. This should never happen in any hotel. Preventing unauthorized access to guest rooms is a basic responsibility that guests should be able to rely on. What made this experience worse was how it was handled afterward. Despite the seriousness of the incident, neither the hotel nor Expedia took appropriate responsibility, and our refund request was refused. I am not posting this to create drama. I am sharing our experience to warn other guests, particularly families, and to highlight a serious failure in safety and accountability.

During our family stay booked through Expedia, we experienced a serious safety incident. Late at night, while my husband, our young child, and I were asleep, an unauthorized adult entered our hotel room. Police were contacted, and the situation was very frightening and distressing. Hotel staff initially suggested the door had not been locked, which we strongly disagree with, as the door was locked before sleep. Our family was staying in two rooms in different areas of the resort. The incident occurred in an older section, while another family member stayed in a newer area with a different door lock system and had no issues. The following morning, hotel management reviewed surveillance footage and informed us that the issue was related to the door lock, not guest error. We were advised to contact Expedia regarding a refund and were offered alternative accommodations if we chose to stay. However, due to the emotional impact and safety concerns, we no longer felt comfortable remaining and decided to leave early. Before departure, we requested assistance with transportation to the airport but did not receive support. After we left, we were informed that the hotel provided a different explanation and declined responsibility. The inconsistent communication and lack of accountability afterward were disappointing, given the seriousness of the incident. This experience caused distress, and we believe safety concerns of this nature should be handled with greater transparency and care.

- Entertainment was lacking. Volleyball net wasn't available in every day. Schedule wasn't followed. The schedule showed an activity at one time, but sometimes the activity got scheduled. There wasn't much dancing in the evening. - Although this is something that cannot be changed, it is worth noting that the hotel is positioned in a way that the building blocks the sun off the beach during the majority of the morning in early afternoon, up until around 1 PM, so you can only really enjoy the sunshine and the beach around 1:30 ish. -The building is quite small, so there isn't really anywhere to walk around to enjoy a beautiful garden or anything like that. - The food is good in the restaurants. However, the restaurants cannot be reserved. And sometimes we've had to wait up to 2 hours. - The water next to the beach is clear. But the shore gets deep very quickly, and the waves are very strong, so it's difficult to just relax and enjoy the water unless you go in deeper.The good news is that there was no currents, so you don't get carried away. - The service, here was excellent. Room was cleaned every day. People are very helpful and friendly. - Spa has massage but no mani/pedicure services. - The views out of all the rooms are ocean view and it's absolutely stunning.You can see all of the ocean plus the city and some nature. - 2 of the elevators were broken they only got fixed after 5 days. - Gym was good

La playa es muy bonita, pero el servicio de parte del lobby no fue el mejor. La comida no estuvo nada buena asta el último día que hibamos a salir estuvo mejor. El show de circo estuvo muy bonito y si gustan una playa bonita y no es tan importante la comida recomiendo quedarse.

Hotel website claims this as 5-star - completely misleading. Check-in was rushed and unhelpful. The room was spacious but poorly maintained: extremely uncomfortable, sunken mattresses, bad pillows, dirty/possibly moldy curtains; a desk with no chair; missing balcony table despite multiple requests; and inconsistent towel replacement. Replacing a broken ironing board took three days and multiple requests, and the replacement was also broken and dirty. Food was lukewarm, repetitive and mostly disappointing. Staff repeatedly asked about allergies, but offered no guidance, there was no ingredient labeling or gluten-free desserts. The pool area was overcrowded and extremely loud, turning into a party atmosphere by midday. Evening entertainment blasted until 10:30 PM and could be heard on the 8th floor - completely unsuitable for families with young children. The beach is beautiful but poorly managed: limited umbrellas (8 total for 30 chairs), inconsistent cleanliness, and a smoking area placed directly at the narrow beach entrance despite claims of being smoke-free. Kids Club smelled like a pile of dirty diapers masked by an overwhelming air freshener. WiFi was spotty. The overpriced lobby shop attempted to charge our card $1,000 USD instead of pesos, resulting in a fraud alert. We were even questioned about “checking out” when our room key stopped working mid-stay. Aside from the view and weather, this feels like money wasted. Stay elsewhere.

⭐ Club Royal Puerto Vallarta – Honest Review ⭐ Unfortunately… this stay was a miss. Food: • Breakfast/Lunch Buffet: Breakfast has a fresh omelet station, which was the highlight. Lunch? …no comment. • Dinner: You choose between Mexican or Italian. • The Mexican dinner was honestly disgusting. • The Italian was actually great! • Portion Sizes: Shockingly tiny. Not enough for a small child, let alone a hungry adult. Staff & Service: Your experience depends heavily on your bracelet color—aka your VIP status. If you’re not rocking the black VIP band, prepare to be treated like an afterthought. High-Pressure Sales (“Vultures”): The time-share/vacation-club team WILL harass you daily. Every day. Every angle. It’s exhausting. Resort Experience: • The property looks beautiful, but the pools are absolutely freezing. • Expect kids running and screaming everywhere. • Our room smelled musty, and not in a “tropical ocean breeze” way. Bottom Line: While the view is stunning, everything else fell flat. ❌ I will never come back. ❌ I will never recommend this resort.

The resort is a little gem. The staff was friendly. The only issues I had were, the ATM was out of order, there was no currency exchange, and the worst was the loud music until 11pm every night. You can hear everything in the hallways and outside. There were plenty of things to do. We had a romantic dinner on the rooftop and it was perfect.
