The entertainment staff at this resort love to humiliate people as part of the “show”
Our first night we watched the couples challenge; during the final challenge (balloon popping in sexual positions) the final couples final balloon was filled with an unknown white & wet substance that exploded all over both of them. They did not look like they enjoyed it.
Later in the week we decided to Bali bed & bottle service. When the bottle (vodka) was brought to us the man started dancing up on me with a champagne bottle (we didn’t order) then insisted I stand up, I said no multiple times but ended up being forced up. Once I stood up, he made me spin around once, then he uncorked the champagne and proceeded to spray the whole bottle all over me, hair, face, eyes (burned for hours after). I left. Didn’t enjoy a drop of the bottle purchased and the hotel refused to comp it. They took 20% off and we were not allowed to check out before paying for it. We found out ritual happened to many other girls this week and they were just as surprised by it as I was.
We won’t be returning.

The property was well kept and clean.The staff made you feel comfortable and always very helpful and polite. The beach although beautiful had too much seaweed to enjoy the water.The beach front view from our Jr suite in the Secrets side of the resort was stunning.The spa was fabulous and for the first time experience, its a must.I had the liberty of enjoying both breathless and secrets and equally love them.I recommend this resort and I will returning.

this was our 2nd time to Secrets riviera and have booked for next March 2027 . Love the small secrets side very personal. Staff are fantastic. building 2 ocean view our favorite.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff go out of their way to welcome you and take care of your needs. The pool staff are so friendly, especially Luis. He was so friendly and entertaining. A lot of them even remember your name. The only complaint I have is we ordered room service 1 day and it never showed up. And we had to call twice to get snacks and beveridges re filled in the mini fridge. The resort itself is beautiful, the food was good, we had a relaxing week.

Louis was amazing and always made sure to go above and beyond when cleaning my room! Loved him. The curtains had a horrible smell at first but once they were changed - all was good.

If you’re thinking about booking Secrets Riviera Cancun don’t. This place is a complete disappointment and nowhere near the luxury it claims to be.
We went for a 40th birthday during spring break and it felt like a total waste of money. The swim up suites are small underwhelming and absolutely not worth the price. You’re paying premium rates for a very average experience.
The service was awful. We spent hours waiting for dinner especially at the Asian restaurant and the buffet had barely any options. The food was bland and forgettable and the drinks were weak and inconsistent. Nothing about it felt high end.
The only thing that saved the trip even slightly was access to the Breathless side which at least had some nightlife and better restaurant options.
The most disturbing part was the complete lack of respect for privacy. Staff had printed out photos of my husband’s and my passports without telling us. When we questioned it no one could give a straight answer. Eventually we were told it was because of an “alarm” in our room yet we were never notified of any issue. The entire situation felt invasive unsettling and completely inappropriate and it made us uncomfortable for the rest of the stay.
I have had far better service food and overall experiences at resorts that cost a fraction of this one. This place is overpriced poorly managed and not worth it in any way.
Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

All of the pools and the jacuzzi was cold, unable to enter without possible thermal shock. This was reposted to management and nothing was done. I was there from Thursday to Monday and also unable to utilize the swim up/out pool due to being freezing cold. I am aware that January is considered a winter month however being a resort offering pools and charging the rate of $3161 I should have been able to have applied warmth to the pools and jacuzzi.
