A charming and unique boutique hotel with beautiful, distinctive decor and a cozy, intimate feel. Having a dedicated parking space was a huge plus, especially since Portsmouth is so walkable and full of wonderful restaurants, cafés, and little shops to explore. The hotel perfectly captures the charm of this historic New England town and makes it easy to slow down and enjoy everything the area has to offer. A lovely stay and a great home base for exploring Portsmouth!

Rooms were good but not enough electrical outlets, not enough shelving in bathroom, and each side of the bed needs a shelf. Lighting was also limited.

Hotel entrance and lobby was not the usual hotel that you expect. There is no front desk service. All transactions are done online and you are given a code. Room was clean and cosy but very small. View from the window was limited as you can see part of the bridge. The location was very convenient as walking distance to shops, parks and restaurants.

We loved the property, the only issue was sound. It was really noisy at times and anyone in the hallway could be heard. Other than that it was the perfect location, the staff were really responsive and helpful, and it was lovely.

Loved our stay. Contactless check in was smooth and easy. Beautiful old building in perfect location for walking around town. Parking right across street. Room was clean and updated. Only negative would be the 13 stairs to access the building while carrying luggage.

The location is excellent and parking is easy. Getting up to the room is a little tricky, you have to drag your bags up a large flight of stairs in front of the building, go through a secured door and around the corner to a small elevator. Once up on the "hotel floor" of the building, the common area is nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was small. It's a cool old building with a lot of history, and they kept the charm of the building while making the rooms modern enough to be functional. There is a theater in the lower level of the building and we were concerned about the noise, but we didn't hear the show at all unless we had the window open. We felt secure and slept well after enjoying a walk around town and a good dinner at Surf.
