" Bed very uncomfortable, had very little sleep not good at my age"

"Bed was comfortable, location is central and very close to the cathedral but the whole place is in desperate need of refurbishment. The decor is tired and dated, bathroom is grim, sealant around the sink and bath/shower is mouldy. I found 2 long dark hairs in the bathroom on entering (definitely not mine), one next to the sink and one in the bath. Tea stains all down the wall and over the skirting board where used tea bags have been thrown into the bin. The room furniture is dated and worn, tired and depressing. I wasn't even asked if my stay was okay on checkout, I suppose the staff know that it is poor; I did feed back to the receptionist that the room was grim. Was told that my comments would be fed back to the management but who knows if this is true. I won't be returning."

"Breakfast was terrific. Wide range of choices and delicious eggs. Only disappointment was that we asked if they could prepare oatmeal/porridge, and were told no. "
