"Mitten in historischer Altstadt. Gut für Globetrotter, schlecht mit Fahrzeug. Wir hatten ein muffiges Erdgeschosszimmer, kleines Fenster für Luft, aber kaum Licht. Wollten extra "Übernachtungs-Tax" abrechnen. Null Englischenntnis."

"Great location in the heart of the community. Restaurants markets and stores in walking distance. Third bed was in middle of kitchen /living area. We were there during a music festival in the piazza, ended up with party goers sitting in doorway and smoking/ talking late into the night."

This was a journey into the past. Atena Lucana, the old city, is high on the mountain top and overlooks a spectacular valley below. It has breathtaking views. You need to be a mountain goat to climb and explore the streets. But if you love antiquity and have a sense of adventure, you won't be disappointed. The church of St Ciro is quite beautiful. The town folks (pop 2000) are friendly and proud of it's rich heritage. You feel the genuine sense of loss as families were forced to leave due...

I was looking for an authentic place to stay in Muro Lucano and Nonna's was it! You can walk to many places but know that there are many steps and hills. Grocery store a minute walk down the street.

Very friendly staffs. We LOVED the thermal pool! Natural hot springs. 3 different pools and very relaxing. They also have a bar/cafe right next to the thermal pool and they serve fresh squeezed juices. Breakfast - most selections. Very delicious.

This hotel we perfect for what we needed, One night and reasonable price. They have free WIFI which is always a plus and on site free parking! Room had plenty of space for a short stay, Bathroom was large and clean. Large balcony, tho it rained during my stay. Restaurant down stairs was very good, and inexpensive. Breakfast was a normal continental variety.

We found our room spacious and absolutely clean. Ignazio and Donatella did all they could to be helpful. We had nice talks at the breakfast. I would stay again.

My great grandfather was born in the very small town of Aquara and, in planning our trip from the USA to Italy, we were looking for a peaceful, welcoming spot to stay while we paid a short visit to the city. The staff was terrifically accommodating and the property was beautiful. There is a restaurant, small bar and pool on site as well as short walking trail, hammocks and, since they are up on a hill, beautiful views of the valley below Aquara.

The room was very nice and clean. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Giovanni helped me with transportation around Sala Consilina to see the town center and the sights in the area. He also helped me get to Teggiano for my stay there. Wonderful people!

If you want a true Italian family experience then a stay at BnB La Mortella is the answer. We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour. The BnB was a bit hard to find but once we were there it was worth seeking. Antonio and his family also work the land with citrus and olive groves dominating the landscape. They also produce olive oil for their business. Each...

A very comfortable room, breakfast included, everything worked well, it was a unique experience to stay at medieval ex convent building in the middle of Italy, restaurants, shops, unique coffee shops and one of the best candy, chocolate shop in town, a very small one, full of history, beautiful churches, safe and alive, wonderful people around, either alone or with company, it’s a unique place to visit, all highways are excellent, every morning. The family and the animals are friendly and care for you well. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin so when someone sneezes in the next room it will wake you up. I was happy that most of the time I stayed here alone. There is a fantastic view of the hillside village Altavilla Silentina. I was glad to spend the two weeks driving around to learn more about the area as I was thinking about buying a home here, but the level of local poverty means it would be difficult to get services here.
