The Inn on the Wharf

The Inn on the Wharf

8/10 Good
"My husband and I have stayed at The Inn on the Wharf 4 or 5 times in the last decade or so, and wasn't happy with our last stay (room was showing signs of maintenance neglect and had an encounter with a not so nice member of their restaurant staff one night). Was excited to hear that there were new owners and we were able to book a night's stay on the way back home from a trip to Nova Scotia. Got to stay in one of the separate multi-level homes to the side of the main property. Room was tiny but clean; bed was super comfortable and it was a bit windy that night so we opened the windows a bit to be lulled to sleep by it. Only complaint about the room was that the Wi-Fi wasn't working which meant the TV also wasn't working (router needed to be reset but wasn't in our unit). But the old owners never had TVs in any of the units so we were used to not having any to begin with. A HUGE improvement is with their staff. Incredibly friendly, from the gentleman that greeted us upon check in to the ladies who took care of us at dinner and at breakfast the next morning. Attitudes were like night and day from under previous ownership. I hope the new owners continue with their thoughtful touches in the rooms and I wish them much success moving forward. Definitely be back for sure!"

"The location was great, right on the water with wonderful view. The motel is old, hasn’t been updated in a long time, rustic would be a good description. The inn keeper was informative, made suggestions for dining and worthwhile attractions but not always available. No food available on the premises, closest restaurants are a 15-20 minute drive."
