「We have just returned home after a 2 week stay at Milford House which we highly recommend. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and everything we could have possibly needed was provided, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The house is in a convenient location, only a minute or two's walk from the centre of the village. A particular highlight was the bedroom in the roof and the sounds of the sheep and cows in the fields nearby! We enjoyed staying in Tideswell...

「Staff were excellent. Very helpful. Food good. However, our room, No.3, was shabby, to say the least. Definitely not value for the price. Mould in the shower. Peeling wallpaper. Toilet window unable to open. Dirty carpet. Burnt arm on heated towel rail when bent down to retrieve towel from floor. No warning notice. Double wall socket peeling from wall. Dirty TV remote held together by sellotape. Small TV with poor sound. Photos support my assertions.」

「A nice modern hotel. Clean and comfortable on a main road that will allow you to travel out to a bunch of different riding and hiking spots conveniently. Staff were friendly and as mentioned it was lovely and clean. Only recommendation would be to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you happen to be in a room looking out on to the road. The windows are thick but seemingly not enough to block out noise from passing vehicles. 」

「Historic property so room is reflective of that. Clean, quiet & great location with good parking. Onsite bar & restaurant convenient with good quality meals. Breakfast was also very good with a good selection. 」

「The room was spacious, warm, and ideal for 2 people. All the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with the local area. Food breakfast excellent choice, evening - good choice available throughout the menu. 」

「Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome.」

The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside.」
