It was not what we were looking for. The streets were lined with bars and it seemed a little seedy. It was crowded, so it must appeal to others. If you like college spring break in the USA you might like it here.

It's very touristy here and some sellers are a bit more pushy than others, compared to Mexico. Be aware. However, we did find a gem of place, I think named "Free as the Sea." Sofia is the main gal here and works here with her family. It's a small bar that has colorful umbrellas and chairs, and their service was awesome. Her place is a few spots of the street on the beach, and we went there 2 days in a row. Otherwise beach has more restaurants, bars, activities to do, things to see, but did not get the Thailand feel here. Beach was clean and and good size. Would go back!

Patong is a place for singles looking to have fun. It's loud and noisy. Fun for young folks. Stay away if you are a family.

We did not visit Patong Beach as Amari resort offers a private beach and pools.
