「For a 4 star hotel it’s quite run down and old. We stayed 3 days. The amenities are nice. We had an ant problem in our room which was gross, they came and cleaned it up and sprayed a bunch of chemicals. Wouldn’t stay here again!」

「Private apartment, managed by the hostel around the corner. Double bed in living room is a full size couch/futon (a 1.5 person bed). When we came in, the mirror was full of white foam, sprayed but never wiped. That was a quick remedy. Nice decoration. There was a very strong cleaning smell in the kitchen and bathroom and I could see a spray of it in the sink, like it was never rinsed (think Antikal, liquid descaler). That should have been rinsed. 「The outside was a surprise. Quiet alleys with lots of graffiti but don’t be scared off. The apartment was spacious, clean, and centrally located. Everything you need is with easy walking distance. I would stay there again.」

「Unfortunately a disappointing stay. Broken AC, cold pools, weird sewer smell. Not sure how this is considered a 4 star. With some time and effort spent into upgrading , could be lovely! Food is also really bad :( Won’t be back to stay here!」

「Had a really good time there with my family. I actually booked another hotel in Sagres, but with much smaller space and poorer infrastructure. So I cancelled that one, and drove back again to Balaia hotel. Again the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was also an indoor swimming pool nearby. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Not to mention that the price is so attractive. Definitely worth it.」
