I cannot say enough positive thing about my stay! The place was clean and tidy. Rooms were a little small, but we knew that going in and needed a place to sleep and shower as we had a busy schedule - this was the perfect place! We were close to a main train hub which was wonderful for getting around fast. Closer you walk to the train the more homeless and beggars you will encounter but the hotel area was safe. Make sure to discuss the AC with the front desk as we had to request they check if it was on - once they double checked it was working perfectly. We had a wonderful stay and thanks to staff!

Friendly check in, served a decent buffet style breakfast and had a happy vibe around the place. The single room was small and without anywhere to store clothing or valuables but as I was only there for a couple of days, it wasn’t a problem. The bathroom was modern and felt typical of a more expensive hotel. Marche St Quentin for food adventures is opposite the hotel and there is a street entrance for Gare de L’Est metro just a couple of minutes around the corner, so a great location. I have stayed at many different places close by, both as a single traveler and a couple, and think I would likely return here as it was very good value for money.

Very nice little hotel

Our family of 3 stayed 4 nights in December and loved it. Very quiet and very close to Gare de L'est for using one of the three metro lines around the city. There is a market across the street and many restaurants in the area. Breakfast was good and excellent service in the 24h reception and in the breakfast restaurant. We would love to stay there again. Highly recommended

Great little boutique hotel near gare de l'est

Staff was friendly, location was excellent, rooms were clean. The small chair bed that folded out to a cot was my only complaint, it was not comfortable, but i would definitely stay there again.

Perfect spot in Paris

The place was perfect, breakfast was amazing very good, rooms were a bit small but clean, bathrooms were very nice, staff was incredible I will recommend this to everyone in going to Paris, near the train station

Nice hotel at great location

Stayed for 2 nights. Well located between Gare du Nord and Gare du Est, and also the rest of the public transport network to Paris. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast ambience. During the night I can still hear noise from outside though.

Great decor and very clean. Cute boutique type hotel. Smaller rooms but a good size based on Paris standards. Breakfast wasn't really worth the money in my opinion but overall a great experience.

Recommended without breakfast

Nice little hotel close to the train station Gare de l'Est in Paris. Rooms are small but okay for a city trip, bathroom is nice. The elevator stops between the floors, so you always have to walk a few stairs, which makes it not suitable for handicapped people. We recommend not to book the breakfast cause it is just a small choice and kind of boring. The scrambled eggs are a convenience product and are very dry, the old baguette from the day before gets reheated again. Go to a bakery (boulangerie) round the corner to get a nice breakfast, the one in the hotel disappointed us. Overall we would book the hotel again for a trip to Paris.

Newly refurbished, great service, would return

The service was excellent, with the receptionist immediately taking action when the air-conditioning wasn't working at it's best. The hotel is newly refurbished, clean and the staff helpful. I usually don't consider the "Gare du Nord" area to stay, but would definitely consider Lucien & Marinette again.

the staff are very professional, multilingual & helpful. the building itself is older altho well-maintained. the elevator is small & functional & the spiral staircase is a bit steep, so could be tricky. the breakfast buffet is very good & the neighborhood has many nearby restaurants, also a coin-op laundromat a block away. the taxi-drivers cautioned against being out late at night in that part of Paris. the hotel is a short walk from 2 train stations.

Convenient and Comfortable Train Station Location

We booked Hotel Lucien & Marinette in a triple room for one night in order to make easy train transfers the next morning. The room was very clean and cute. There is a safe and small refrigerator in the room, along with a water boiler and mugs for tea or coffee. There is a market across the street if one needs to purchase food, and a bakery down the street. The neighborhood has a lot of people walking around with suitcases arriving/departing the train station.

We are told to turn left. Don’t turn right. It’s dangerous. We were so far out from everything, that by the time we paid for a taxi, we could have upgraded locations. A/C didn’t work well. One room had to keep window open. Street below was very loud into the night. Had to ring a bell to get in the hotel, it’s that sketchy outside. Had to pay for airport shuttle in cash, then hotel didn’t pay driver. Driver had us wait in the parking lot and call hotel before we could take our flight. Tiny tiny rooms. Hard to walk around. No where to really put two suitcases. I could go on and on.
