First and possibly most importantly, while this hotel lists air conditioning under the facility heading what that translate to is that the lobby is air conditioned. None of the rooms, however, share this benefit. What this hotel has going for it is location, 750 meters to Gare du Nord, easy access to two Metro stations, Montmarte is a short walk away and there are several bakeries and small grocery stores in the immediate area. What the hotel lacks, and this is not necessarily a surprise given the two star rating, is an average level of cleanliness and amenities. The room we stayed in was on the top floor with only one operable window with a shade that was broken (note: the elevator stops at the landing between the fourth and fifth floors so you may have some stairs to take depending on your rooms, also, by elevator I mean a typical European style lift retrofitted into an existing building, capacity is two normal sized adults willing to be in close proximity to each other). There were two fans in the room to help with the heat but luckily the days we were there were unseasonably cool for July. The bathroom ceiling featured an impressive growth of mildew and soap was provided in dispensers attached to the wall at the sink and in the shower. There was an open hole in the closet wall where access had been made to some of the plumbing and there were several items left behind from previous inhabitants. You're paying for location here. Staff was friendly and helpful.
