"Lamangata was absolutely amazing! I stayed there for a work trip as a corporate pilot and my copilot also stayed there. While we were technically there for work it did not feel that way, but more so a paid vacation. I really enjoyed the relaxed home-like atmosphere where the whole resort is truly your home. The Playa Dominicalito room has such a beautiful view from the balcony. Even more amazing was the quality of the food. Every meal was cooked from scratch with local organic fruits, vegetables and meats. They also offered accommodations to fit any diet. Furthermore, the concept of having almost every meal with other guests was a great experience to network, meet others from around the world, and share together the experiences of the resort. I could go on about so much more like the amazing surfing lessons, kayaking in the mangroves or hiking to Nauyaca falls. Like my copilot and I both agreed, Lamangata is not a resort, but an overall experience. I dare anyone to experience Lamangata and not be fully impressed by every aspect of the experience."

"Lovely property. Full of trails in its reserve. Went to the shore - 20 minutes through the woods - to the most magnificent and wild shore. Like heaven! Also went to the natural pool and waterfall - beautiful and cool! The garden, the ocean view from every spot, and the natural and simple wooden rooms - all was a great scene for nature. Dishes of the hotel restaurant (lunch/dinner), not cheap but very tasty. The only thing we missed is an umbrella (which was a must in any other hotel this time of year) for all very wet evenings that we got wet until got to the car..."

"I highly recommend The Trogon Lodge. The staff at the reception desk, the restaurant and the bar/café were super kind and helpful. The new manager is doing a great job. Delicious food: sopa azteca, sauteed trout with veggies, chicken stew, egg omelettes, for example. The trout could not be fresher since the hotel has its own trout ponds. (If you like juicy trout better ask the chef to cook it for less time.) The hotel is located at 2,200 meters above sea level (7,000 feet), at the edge of a crystal clean river, with a soothing sound and view areas with chairs to relax. Gardens and mountains around it are spectacular. The beds are very comfortable making it hard to get up. Many stairs and small hills to reach the upper rooms. The trails can be challenging, and I recommend using hiking boots there. Again, highly recommended."
