Stunning grounds, comfortable rooms.

Had a lovely stay. The grounds are gorgeous. Our room was clean, and plenty warm with the small heater. We didn't even need to leave the property to see a Quetzal. I love the communal bar/lounge.

This was a great property off the beaten path. Road going down is narrow and could use some work but once you get there it’s worth it. Staff was excellent.

A supremely good place to stay for enjoying the cloud rainforest, and birds. If you're an athlete you can either hike, run the trails, or jog/run the Quetzales grinder hill descent and climb and see the bird on the way.

Location and property are beautiful. The staff is wonderful. Food was delicious! We ate breakfast and dinner at the lodge for most meals because it was so good. Two things that would make the lodge perfect (and this is being picky!). Yoga classes, a hot tub. Area gets cold at night and there’s no true heating anywhere. Bundle up! Would stay again!!

Trogon Lodge is set in beautiful grounds by the river, a really lovely setting, birds everywhere and the cabins are comfortable with porch sitting areas to enjoy watching the birds and hearing the river roaring. Quite magical! We dined at the restaurant and the food was delicious- with many selections. Breakfasts were also delicious with plenty of options. We enjoyed walking the Lodge's trails and grounds, early-morning and had 7 sightings of the beautiful Quetzals. It rained one afternoon so we enjoyed sitting at the bar sipping on hot tea and reading our books as we listened to the rain. We will definitely visit Trogon Lodge again!

We love this place! Our lodgings are super clean, Cozy and unique. They are located in a gorgeous park with lots of beautiful plants, trees , and a pond with fish. The Savegre river runs through the property. Lush vegetation. There is a great 3 km hiking trail, and there are a couple of shorter trails. There is a lovely restaurant on the property that serves great food. They are very willing to accommodate any dietary restrictions. They offered to prepare a take out, custom-made breakfast for us tomorrow, ready at 6 am since we have to leave early to catch a plane in San Jose! There is also a nice bar in a separate building with a pool table. The service at this place is outstanding. I’m very impressed! Wish we could stay longer!

The perfect Place to Stay to See Quetzals

The perfect place to stay to maximize your chances of seeing quetzals. Not the cheapest but worth every dollar. Beautiful grounds even in the rain. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good restaurant with great service. Truly excellent guide in Greibin.

We loved the nature around Trogon Lodge. The landscaping was amazing, and my son loved watching the trout in the pond. We loved all the birds and the hiking trails. The grounds of Trogon Lodge were so lush and beautiful, and photos cannot capture their enchanting beauty. For people with mobility issues, be aware that the lodge is a steep slope and could be difficult for some. Also, it is advisable to pack wisely so you don't bring unnecessary luggage up to the room, as it is a trek carrying it.

Es ist eine sehr schöne Anlage. Die Zimmergröße ist für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ausreichend. Dass es einen Elektrokamin gibt ist super und nötig. Unser Bett war leider unbequem und hat bei jeder Bewegung geknarzt, so dass der Partner aufgewacht ist. Das Bad sollte dringend erneuert werden. Unser Abendessen war fad und dazu noch teuer. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass es ausgenutzt wird, dass die Gäste auf das Restaurant angewiesen sind.

Beautiful resort

We loved this beautiful resort with wonderful flowers. Non of the rooms had wifi and our internet provider (Kolbi) wouldn’t work in the rooms. Wifi was provided in the restaurant and bar area. We did see quetzal birds with an early morning guide…well worth it!
