Small, beautiful property. Beautifully maintained staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. Only drawbacks, would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, although there is a Starbucks right next-door. Also, there is a rooftop, disco across the square that blasts the music well past midnight. Possibly not a problem if your room does not face the square but definitely made for a long loud night in our room.

I had a one night layover in Panama. I choose this place because it was on the main plaza in the historic district and it looked like New Orleans. It was excellent. My suite and balcony were better than anything I have had in the French Quarter, and less expensive. Service and people were great. I got some new kinds of drinks in the bar and very interesting menu. This would be the place to stay for Carnival next year.

Staying at Hotel Herrera in Casco Viejo was truly unforgettable-one of those rare experiences where everything just feels right from the moment you arrive. Nestled right in the heart of Plaza Herrera, the hotel’s beautifully restored colonial façade immediately drew me in, but it was the warm welcome from the staff that really set the tone for my stay. My suite was a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort, with gorgeous handcrafted furniture, and a balcony that overlooked the lively Plaza Herrera below. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the luxurious marble bathroom, made it feel like a boutique retreat. I loved waking up to the sounds of the city and sipping coffee while watching the world go by from my private balcony. The hotel’s location made it easy to explore the best of Casco Viejo on foot-charming cafes, art galleries, and vibrant nightlife were all just steps away. The staff went above and beyond, offering great recommendations and even arranging a guided tour to the Panama Canal and a day trip to the Emberá community, which was a highlight of my trip. Dining at Hotel Herrera was another standout. I treated myself to a special dinner in THEcellar, their exclusive private dining room, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The food was incredible, and the intimate setting made it feel truly special. If you’re looking for a place that combines history, luxury, and genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend Hotel Herrera enough.

Internet was good. Suite was spacious. Shower and clothing closet on a seperate floor from bedroom. Ceiling fan was quiet and finctioning. A/C also quiet and functioning. Deck fan operates on a chain that was to short. Hammock on the deck takes alot of space where some decent seating and a small table might be. Great view of the park and street activity. Location is not know to Uber. Early morning coffee is available. Paid for morning breakfast with room online ... used 1 of 2 breakfasts, no credit offered. Breakfast quality is reasonable and tasted good. Staff are probably best asset at this property. They try very hard to make guests welcome amd comfortable. I did not feel like was being worked for an expected tip at all.

Great location. Very nice personnel. Clean spacious room overseeing beautiful plaza Herrera. The only caveat is that access to the rooms is only with stairs. There is no elevator, we were told it’s because it’s an historic building. We could carry our luggages up to our room but people should be aware of this before booking.

What a property!!! If you're looking for flawless accommodations in the Casco Viejo area of Panama City, Hotel Plaza Herrera is it! The attention to detail in its design, the spacious rooms, luxury and spectacular hotel restaurant simply astounded me! Staff are absolutely lovely. The only problem some might have is the fact the property doesn't have an elevator but it's only three stories (staff deliver your luggage to your room) so only those with serious mobility issues might think twice. Location is near everything! I stayed here before a cruise from Colon and an Uber was only about $70 for the 1 hour and 10 minute ride to the terminal. Oh! And you have to check out the restaurant's bathroom floor and sinks: copper US pennies!! Even the door hinges are brass fixtures featuring the hotel logo--as I said, attention to detail! Amazing!

La propiedad es espectacular por la remodelación que preservó la época colonial y la decoración resalta también.
