"Perfect. A hidden gem in Negombo 25 easy minutes from the Colombo International Airport. The room was spotless and spacious. The pool was sparkling clean, relaxing and warm with plenty of exotic birds including parrots flying around. The food choices were numerous and tasty. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every need including laundry services for a nominal fee and airport transfer arrangements. "Overall a bad experience. There are far better hotels/stays for just a few more quids: Room condition: Degraded, dirty and with questionable stains everywhere and we witnessed ants moving pieces of food from under the bed (see photos). Cupboard couldn’t close properly and pops open midnight. Windows had strong watermarks so you can’t really enjoy the view. Service: The manager look-a-like gives zero respect to customers, abruptly stopping people mid sentence to say whatever he needs to say....

"We wanted a place to unwind after a long day's travel, and Nico's was perfect. Possibly our favourite pool ever, with infinity views over the lagoon and birdlife. Local area is safe and friendly, but not touristy at all. Lovely staff, great food (not quick, but worth the wait). Brilliant start to our holiday, my wife already wants to go back."

"Dated resort"

"Arrived after a long flight from Australia at 1.30am. The gates were closed and the place was in darkness. Our taxi driver tried ringing and banging on the gates but to no avail. We had to go to another hotel and pay slot more. Not happy about this."
