Our recent stay at Shadow Ridge was quite unusual compared to our experience at the Marriott Desert Springd Villas. We initially expected the two properties to be comparable, but unfortunately, Shadow Ridge offered a noticeably lower-quality experience.
The resort lacked basic amenities and had difficulty staying stocked with essentials such as cups and towels. There were also many unexpected restrictions—for example, the main pool was closed on the evening of the Fourth of July, despite the resort being at full capacity. It was also surprisingly difficult to find water after 8 PM; the nearest available source was roughly a 20-minute walk from our unit.
Additionally, our stay was disrupted by multiple dogs in a neighboring room that barked through the night on several occasions, even though the website stated the resort was pet-free. The layout of our unit also felt unnecessarily complicated, and upon arrival, we even found a plate of food left on top of the refrigerator.
Overall, the experience felt disjointed and disappointing—especially when compared to the high standards we experienced at Desert Springs Villas.
