「We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. 」

「The Amber House has a very friendly and homely feel to it, I found it a very enjoyable stay and as a solo traveller as my room was a good size and very comfortable.If the weather is nice they have a lovely garden to sit out in and also a ' honesty bar' which has a nice selection in it. 「What to say really, nice and welcoming, rooms are nice and presentable, good to have thing planned as they do go into the rooms to clean and so on, little mini fridges in rooms with chilled water and a small milk, kettle with tea and coffee and so on. Nice throwback to the days of B&B, Breakfast is more filling than you think, dining room is also the bar, not that we used it but looked quaint enough. 「My wife and I were very impressed with Berney and Clive from start to finish. They are excellent hosts. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable and are polite, warm and attentive hosts The BEST accommodation and hosts that we have ever encountered. ( we are : retired nurse and teacher) . The breakfast was delicious with LOADS of choice - fruit, yoghurt, cereals, coffee, tea, toast as well as the cooked breakfast ( beautifully cooked and served hot ).」
