We definitely appreciate you bringing up these items as we feel it is important for potential guests to read descriptions, view the pictures and familiarize themselves with our policies. Our photos for each of our listings accurately represent the setup, which does include a daybed in the living room area and shows two arched doorways with no doors, if you look at the photos it does not show any doors, nor does it show any type of latches or hinges making doors possible. We did install a wall-to-wall curtain rod and a decorative privacy curtain so that guests would be able to attain some level of privacy much more so than the other local establishments where there are two beds in the same large room within feet of each other. We offered you and your friend that was with you an upgrade to our two-bedroom cottage which is a house much larger than the king family suite you booked, which we thought would be more than acceptable for two people. It is the only two-bedroom unit we had that was available for your stay with solid bedroom doors. We are confused as to why this was such a big issue because you ended up at one of the other establishments where they only have two queen beds in the same room within five feet of each other and no a/c for the rest of your stay.You contacted the office two hours after you checked in. Since you were in the room for that duration of time it would require a complete housekeeping service where we would have to remove all linens, towels and sanitize every surface as if you were in the room for the entire night. Which is why we offered to refund you on the second night’s stay. When you booked the room, you booked it at a non-refundable rate which means that you were not entitled to a refund at all. We thought the offer of a refund for the second night was a good compromise since we do not have 24-hour housekeeping and the room would remain closed for the night until the next morning. You then proceeded to harass the office staff throughout the evening via text message, even resorting in an attempt to blackmail and coerce us into giving you a full refund in exchange for a positive review. We do not appreciate the bullying approach you took with our office manager or the attempts at blackmail. Again, we do thank you for taking the time to leave us this review which gave us an opportunity to respond and hopefully will help guests to research the room/suite/cottage they are booking to ensure they book the appropriately sized room for their needs and stay. We are a bit confused on the check in comment though because your reservation was made at 4:24 pm on the day of arrival had your reservation been made earlier in the day or days prior you would have gotten the text message that the other guests got about early check in that same day. Thank you for bringing up the seating in our king suite while we are a motel that does offer full kitchens, high speed fiber optic internet and the only one in Pacific City with A/C our space is limited and in order to offer a king size bed we have space for a bench we are sorry that was not to your liking. And again we do appreciate you bringing that up for future guests.

Thank you for bringing up the planter at the edge of the driveway, we do understand that some guests may have a hard time navigating around it but we are required by Tillamook County to have something there or be fined in their eyes it helps control the flow of traffic. As for the smoking we do have in all of listings and communications that we are a smoke free/drug free property. We are sorry that you were not able to smoke on property, but we do take the health and well-being of our guests very seriously which is why we have gone to a smoke free/drug free property. Thank you for the rating. We did get the feedback you provided via our in-house feedback. We are sorry that you found the mattress to be uncomfortable. As we explained you are the first and only person to make a comment about the mattress usually, we are told the exact opposite that everyone loves the room and bed was so comfortable. We also offered you a discount for the inconvenience, we also inspected the mattress and found nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately, mattresses are subjective for each person.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide feedback. You made a reservation for 3 people in a family suite which has a max occupancy of 5 people. Immediately upon booking this suite you received a message from us reiterating our house rules and that we do not permit guests to have more than the maximum occupancy and guests who show up with more people will not be given access to the room they booked. On your arrival date you received a text message with a digital registration form again reiterating our policies and advising that occupancy limits are strictly enforced you signed this form prior to your arrival at 2 p.m. You also received a text from us advising that we have designated parking for each suite and to park in the assigned numbered spot. Upon your arrival at 2 p.m. for your one night stay you arrived with 4 vehicles and parked in 4 parking spots none of which were your assigned parking spot and 8 people with you. At check-in we verified that it was 3 people and one vehicle the one you noted on the registration form. You confirmed this and were advised that because we had no vacancies all vehicles must be moved immediately and that there could be no more than 5 people in the room at any time due to local fire codes. You left the office and went to your room as did the 7 other individuals with you leaving all 4 vehicles parked in other guests parking spots. We waited 30 minutes before knocking on the door and asking you to move the vehicles and reiterating the max occupancy of 5, shortly after you all left. Approx. 3 hours later two individuals in a vehicle not registered with the office arrived and started to enter your room, this would be the 5th vehicle for your group and numbering 10 people. Out of concern for your safety and security we questioned them and contacted you to ensure that you did not lose the key and they were in fact given authorization to enter the room. While talking to these guests they stated that all 10 of your group were planning on staying here and were having to scramble at the last minute to find other lodging. We questioned you about this because it contradicted our previous conversation with you. We also gave you the option of a refund for you to vacate the property if you could not follow our policies you refused stating you were at the beach and did not want to come back to the office to turn in the key and that you would not have more than the max occupancy of 5 in the room. This was the last of our communication with you. On the morning of your departure we observed 6 people leaving your room in 3 different vehicles with one of the vehicles hidden down the street at the gas station. We are sorry that you feel that the enforcement of our policies which are made clear prior to your arrival is harassment. It is clear that our motel which is a smoke free, drug free, family friendly. non-partying motel was not a fit for your stay. We wish you all the best and safe travels and hope you will fi

We are sorry that you are upset and unhappy that you were charged for extreme damages to a custom built piece of furniture as if you took sand paper to the bench. We inspect every room after each guest personally and know for sure that this bench was not in this condition prior to your free upgrade to this suite. We have had families with small children stay in this room and never had the damages and the mess that were left by you and your adult guest. We are sorry that you were disappointed when you called to dispute the charges and were told that we would not reverse the charges in as nice of a way as we could when dealing with you on the phone. Again we are sorry it seems we were not a good fit for you and friends stay and wish you all the best and safe travels.
