My wife, two young kids, and I stayed at CityBox Oslo for a night during a 24-hour layover. I would return to this one or other cities in the future,. Pros - The location is 2 blocks away from Central Station which is perfect for Since the rooms are small, the combined 3 buildings have a comfortable and welcoming shared space to work, have dinner, watch television and lounge after a day of touring the city. The efficient self check-in and checkout. Cons. The rooms are the bare minimum but efficient.

This was a great spot for a short stay in Oslo! Conveniently located close to Oslo Central Station, with access to two cafes from inside the hotel. Amenities, including laundry, were such a plus for someone on a long journey. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

The building is nice and in a great location in Oslo, but the actual room I stayed in had a ton of crumbs from the last guest and holes in the ceiling, which, not ideal!

Stylish decor and clean. Limited staff and no tea or coffee in the room. There is a kettle in the communal area but no free coffee or tea bags or milk etc. There is a coffee machine in the communal area but you have to pay for the coffee. There is a luggage store but I was warned it is not secure - you can enter with your key as it is not manned by staff so other customers could take your luggage if they wanted to. I cant compare to other hotels in Norway but I would so its okay but bring tea/coffee/milk (although not sure if there's a fridge..) and better to store luggage in one of the lockers at the train station if staying here. It ends up being more expensive then face value this way though so a slightly more expensive hitel with better facilities may not actually cost you any more in the long run.

It’s a self-service hotel with the minimum one would need of a hotel, there is one staff but no service per say. The hotel in itself is nice, pretty, modern, in excellent condition and offers common areas with places to sit, eat, play ping-pong, watch TV and the such, but it does have a troubling smell that is hard to ignore…

What a great hotel in a very central area! I really loved the laundry machines in the building too. Rooms were super quiet and the staff were very helpful! Would love to stay here again

I enjoyed this property because it was perfect for a solo traveler looking for a nice but budget stay. I wish the breakfast was included with the price, as it was on the more expensive side, but it was quite good. Good amenities, easy check in, overall nice stay.

We were in Norway for 2 weeks. We flew in and out of Oslo several times, and we used City Box as our base. This is a lower cost hotel but provided us everything we could have wanted! The check in/check out process is self serve. You will receive an email the day of check in with a code number. There is a computer kiosk in the lobby where you will check in- this is how you receive your room number and keys. It sounds a little daunting, but it was very easy. There is an onsite Manager that is there to help if there are any problems, or you need assistance/advice. The rooms are small- note some are much larger than others (we stayed in 321, 620 and 521 and they were all larger rooms). There is no TV in the rooms but the wifi is good and we just streamed on our ipads. There is a lot of common space on the first floor with games, a tv, laundry, reading areas and visiting space. There are two restaurants attached to the building that give discounts to guests. The location is perfect. We never walked more that 20 minutes to see everything we wanted to see. The only exception was the Kon-Tiki museum, however the free bus line to get there was right by the hotel. The Oslo central train station is two blocks away and easy to use to the airport or around Norway. This is a great hotel for the cost - it is clean, convenient, affordable and the beds are comfy.

Great value - superb location and super cute
This reminded me of Marriott’s moxy brand. Trendy decor, modern and fun vibe catered towards young people. Small rooms for sure but you get all the value and more in the prime location. I’d much rather pay less for a small space in a convenient area than the same price or more for a larger place somewhere further away

Was a nice property right near the main station, quick walk & easy to find. It’s also right next to a tram stop so it was very easy to get around the city & coming back to the hotel. The hotel itself is massive on the inside with different lounge areas & a cafe. The room was small but it’s job, what I loved the most was the heated floor in the bathroom, I’m not sure if it was designed that way or it just happens naturally in the winter, but it super pleasant haha. Checking in & out was also easy & my room was ready before check in time. Overall would recommend to a friend~

The property was a advertised; however their billing department chose to bill me for a no show claimng I double booked. I clearly showed them my single reservation while they sent me 3 check in codes. After a couple back and forth emails they told me to ignore and further bills. Then they still billed me twice. I'm waiting for them to rectify it before I dispute it with my bank. Frustrating to say the least...

We'd seen it recommended as a great low cost option by various Oslo city guides, and it lived up to expectations. Excellent value for money and exactly what we wanted - a clean, warm, functional room with a central location. The cafes in the same building were perfect for breakfast. Staff were available but we didn't really need them much - check in was self service. They were happy to provide extra towels, and we made use of their luggage room on our last day. 10/10
