「The hosts, Judy and Dale, are fantastic! We enjoyed talking with them the evening that we arrived, and hearing the history of how Cupola Inn B & B came to be, almost 28 years ago! The breakfast that Judy made for us in the morning was delicious. We chose to eat it, family style, with the other guests in the Round Barn, which was another fun experience! 「No in-room fridge or microwave, not a problem for me. REAL orange juice at breakfast, wonderful! Sound insulation between rooms not so good. NO nightlight in bathroom, but there are some available at desk. Non-smoking room had stale smell of smoke, which took a few minutes to get used to. Towels were reasonably absorbent. Pleasant desk staff. Will stay again.」

「We had to stop here unexpectedly due to a storm and ended up checking in very late (2am). The staff was very kind during our arrival! The hotel was clean and quiet. We also really appreciated the continental breakfast! 」

「Never ever take this hotel.....it's the most disgusting hotel that we ever stay before!! I even got itching after sat on the couch! By the way, we'ad booked for 4 nights for 2 rooms , but the front desk sent us an invoice and asked us to check-out (paid everything upfront)on the 4th morning; although we're more than happy to leave it, but who is going to return me the difference?」

「My grandson and I very much enjoyed our stay at Charles City. Our first morning we got up so late we missed the breakfast. The next morning, we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel has a high standard of cleanliness. Our room was wonderful. The public areas are very well-kept, and the breakfast area looked terrific. 「This hotel and the whole town of Mason City was a happy surprise. The property has been beautifully, painstakingly maintained/restored with nearly every detail impeccably Frank Lloyd Wright. (that also means there are fewer outlets, etc. than you'd expect in a modern build.) Bed was comfy, staff was very accommodating, good dining options within walking distance, nice balcony overlooking the park, so bring a bottle of wine. Kudos to the folks who made this such a great and authentic-feeling...
